Sanne - first post - 50s chic in '08 colors

This is my first post on the "What You Wore Today" forum so its kind of exciting. Needless to say I have been spying on you ladies for some time now.

So here's what I wore today: Gold-metalic skirt from Hout-Brox, A cream 3/4 sleave cardigan (Zara), suede grey peep-toe heals (Zara), coral-colored scarve from Claudia Sträter and a vintage redcoral necklace worn as a bracelet.

What do you fashionista's think? Is the label (see title) 'apt'? Is it too much in terms of colors/fabrics? Should I have maybe added a belt or something? Also please feel free to use the new rating-system.

And yes, I am terribly European.

I think it's very nice. Love the way you work colors. I saw a peek of tummy in the second picture. Could you put another thin layer under the cardigan to avoid that?

hi Sannes - welcome to the forum. I love your style and the outfit. The coral really brings it to life and what a great idea to convert the necklace into a bracelet. I especially like your skirt. I'd give your overall outfit a 9.

I love it. I am very partial to champagne monochromatic loooks. To do monochromatic right, I think it needs texture, which you've pulled off here. I love the mix of textures: the soft cardi with the shiny crinkly skirt and suede for shoes. The scarf is beautiful. And the grey suede shoes are a nice surprise touch which bumps it all up a notch too.

The skirt is quite lovely and I imagine it will be very versatile.

What kind of purse would you wear? A clutch would be nice. But I'm just wondering what color handbag would work best with an outfit like this?

Welcome Sannes! You look beautiful. (9). I see you're tying your scarf "the new way". I’m blogging about that soon.

Love your outfit! I also give it a 9. I think a cami with some lace at the bottom would be lovely to add...

Thanks so much for posting, Sannes! I'm so envious of you that you can wear those colors so well. I look like the living dead if I attempt a look like that. I think you look great. The scarf is a great pop of color and the "bracelet" is a perfect addition. I, too, give the outfit a 9 and look forward to seeing more of your style.

I also second the suggestion for the cami underneath and I LOVE your shoes :)

love the colors and the skirt is wonderful :) the gray shoes work well with the warm color palette. a slightly longer top underneath and you're set :)

Love love love love love. This is totally something I would wear, if I could. 9.5!

I agree with the ladies. I think this is a solid 9. I love the 50s vibe but with the modern colors. Also love the way you have mixed the gold, gray and cream with a pop of coral. I might prefer a more traditional scarf approach, but this is just personal preference. It is a very chic look and you wear it well.

I love those shoes! And the skirt is lovely. :) I would also wear a cami underneath just to prevent the tummy peep, but otherwise great outfit!
