sandal stitching rubbing, quality problem?

I often have issues with stitching in the shoes rubbing my feet. Obviously more problematic with sandals since I cannot wear shocks to break them in. Is this a quality problem?

I just got the Steve Madden Orka. http://www.amazon.com/Steve-Ma.....038;qid=14...

They are comfortable other than this one part where the stitching pokes at my left foot. Would another pair be free of this problem?

Could be, or it could be just where the stitching happens to hit your foot on this style. Most people have one foot that's bigger than the other so things may bug you on one side but not the other. Personally, unless it's minor I wouldn't risk it. I'd return them and try a different style.

Is the stitching on the sole or on the bands? I often have this issue as well. Born makes some of my favorite shoes but I HATE the stitching on their soles, it always rubs and causes blisters.

For small issues on bands, sticking moleskin on the insides usually does the trick, although if the bothersome part is really big or pointy it might not be enough.

Interestingly the stitches on the right foot is smooth and doesn't rub. Only the left side has obvious stitching. I think I will get another pair before I give up completely.

I would try another pair. If it still rubs, it would be a deal breaker for me and I would return them.

It is on the band. I think a moleskin probably will work. It just irks me that they cannot be made better, you know.

I actually don't buy steve madden shoes anymore because of quality issues. FWIW.

I know. They are just exactly the style I have been looking for. And they have 5.5 that fits me. I cannot be too choosy because my hard to fit foot. Why won't Ecco make this style?

I don't it to be the case, usually, that a different pair makes a difference. It's a design / manufacturing design matter, what pieces make up a show and where they'll be joined.
