I didn't, but I am trying out a linen navy jacket just to see if it works for warmer weather. Saks just released a number of jackets for preorder and I'm hoping that Nordstrom does too in the coming days. If so, I'll definitely be getting the black check jacket with the curved hem. Two years ago, I returned a similar herringbone jacket (the one that Angie has) and still regret it. It can't be found on eBay or other consignment sites, so I'm not going to make that mistake again.

GF, I feel exactly the same way about that exact same jacket!!!!!!

I didn't order it because I had never tried Smythe and I was worried about sizing and the whole ordering thing was at that time even more difficult and fraught from Canada. But oh, I wanted that jacket and still dream of it.

I was hoping they would come out with something similar this year.

I just ran off to check the preorder ones at Saks and also the ones on Shopbop. For this kind of money, it has to be the right one, don't you think? I would really love houndstooth or the right glen plaid. You would look amazing in any black and white one.

I agree that at that price, it should be the right one. The reason I'm trying out the navy linen one with the large pockets is because of the gilet lesson: garments that look understated online can look absolutely fab in real life. I thought, nothing to lose, so why not? Are you going to trying out any of the Saks ones?

Thanks! I was also on team sadness when I saw there was no Smythe at NAS this year:)

I have the plaid blazer from NAS two years ago and it is fabUlous. It elevates anything I wear it with.

The Fall 2 shipments are due in stores shortly. It's heavy on tweed and glen check, which is where I bow out until Spring.

A note re the June Ruby selection - the shorter linen tobacco coloured one (I forget the name) is FANTASTIC and looks great on petites. The colour is also much more appealing in person than it is in the photo.

I won't preorder one, GF. I am spending a lot already on the gilet, booties, and a few other things. But I'm making a mission to try a few on this year, and maybe next year will be my lucky year.

Jules - their own website -http://smythelesvestes.com - but I don't think you can order from them directly. There is a list of stores on their site tho........

I guess I'm lucky in that there is a great boutique literally a 1 minute drive from my back door that carries a large portion of the Smythe line each season. Or maybe it's unfortunate.....for my bank account.
