Oh my gosh, that's horrible. I am SO sorry. :( Losing a pet is like losing a family member. How's your daughter doing?

Khris, what an awful thing to happen! I'm so sorry. Our last dog was attacked while on the leash by a much bigger dog. His wounds were extensive but healed, but he was never the same afterwards. May Hermione Cat rest in peace.

Oh Khris, I'm so sorry. The loss of a beloved pet is difficult. Hermione was a beautiful kitty and obviously much loved by you and your daughter. She was fortunate to have been a part of your family.

Khris, I am so sorry and sad for you and your family. I hope DD is coping well. Losing a pet is hard on adults and even harder on children, I think. All our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Hope you get some consolation in knowing you gave the best of everything and so much love to Hermione.

Oh no Khris, my heart breaks for you and daughter. Losing a pet is traumatic enough as it is, but even so you always hope they will at least go peacefully. I have to admit I don't have the guts to read the blog post but based on the comments I think it was for the best. I know I would just start sobbing. Many hugs to you and DD.

I just cried through half my workout, but it felt good. Odd sensation, though! Dd is actually doing pretty well. Dh took the day off of work, and took the kids to Costco to get their minds off of things and get some special (junk) food. Honestly, I will be surprised if dd isn't asking for a Chihuahua in a week or less. Kids are pretty resilient that way.

The dog that attacked her has been chasing my cats for months. We get a lot of stray animals in our area (people think that they can just release their unwanted pets into the desert, and they will survive). At one point, we thought a neighbor adopted it. Either it got loose, or it's stray again. It's a small dog- not much bigger than the cat, so it could squeeze under a fence easily. Luckily, the kids didn't see any of it. I woke them up to let them say goodbye (she was all wrapped up in a towel) and bury her in the backyard. She's much better off where she is- she was in pain and could not move her back end at all. Not that it makes if any easier.

I am so, so sorry Khris. Losing a pet is heart breaking and soul destroying. It’s extremely sad reading this post, hearing how it happened, and I’m tearful as I type. Kitty is in a better place and that’s the only silver lining. Do you have other pets?

Khris, I was so sad to read what happened to your beloved pet. A similar thing happened to my pet when I was age 13, and reading this brings back all the emotions....you never quite get over it. Hope all your family can rally together and support each other through this tough time!

Angie, we do have other pets- a dog and two other cats. They are a comfort to us right now.

Oh Kris how awful (((hugs))). I'm filling up here too. I understand how awful it is to lose a pet one of my cats was knocked down a couple of years ago. I promise it gets easier we're here if you need us x

Awwww.......... Poor kitty cat.......... God will take care of your critter and she is watchin you from Heaven! You could always get stuffed animals that look like your kitty, to make you feel like she's still there.............
