Rockstud sizing?

I'd like to order the 2.5" Rockstud caged pumps and information about sizing varies from true-to-size to "need to order up".
I'm usually a smallish 8.5 in closed shoes, with sandals often being size 8.
Should I get the 38.5 Rockstuds or size up to 39?

Hi Minnie,
I have the T-Strap Rockstuds (4" heel). I normally wear a 7.5...8 if shoe tends to run small. Mine are 38 and fit fine. I tried on the ones you are looking at and they seemed to me to run a tad larger than the t-straps. It may be that they were just a bit more comfortable with the lower heel. Anyway, I would say they run at least a half size smaller than true to size.
Hope you enjoy them. They make quite the statement!
