I came in to respond to this earlier, Lisa, but then I read your offhand comment about Vivian sounding like your mother and it just gutted me. Man, you never know when it's going to hit, do you?

I really like the whole concept of "restrained boho" because easy breeziness really feels right as the weather warms up, but most of us who aren't Stevie Nicks can't pull off even trying to be Stevie Nicks, if you know what I mean. I think your jewelry really helps a lot here, because it's so simple and modern. Those are really great pieces... bold, without being over the top. Aida's earring suggestion is a good one, too! Just as you are here is fine, though. You look both pulled-together and relaxed.

I like your comment on balancing the boho look -- peasant blouses can be too much fabric for me sometimes so I gravitate to those blouses that have a v-neck, no elastic wrist cuffs that pile up fabric between the shoulder and wrist and any blouse that accentuates the hips. So your blouse would potentially not work for me but ON YOU, it looks so soft and feminine. The choice of color has something to do with that and the type of fabric. Then, you added those dynamite sandals and it just says, hey, I like who I am; let's have some fun today.

Really wonderful look on you Lisa. Everyone else said it so well....and I love your idea that western style can pair well with boho when done right.

DH has a collection of really nice bolo ties he inherited from his Dad that I've wanted to try to wear...they are like jewelry.....this gives me an idea. (His dad spent his retirement in Arizona and bought the bolos then)

Jenn - my mother died just last August - so it's still pretty fresh in my mind. Thanks for the lovely comments !

Oh those sandals...I like it all!
