Rejecting ribbing

I'm just lounging in a Mossimo long n lean ribbed tank and realized I am so over ribbing. I had some turtleneck sweaters that always seemed to bunch up into little rolls due to the ribbing and tossed them over a year ago. Now even the baby ribbing of the layer tee bugs me. It's that rolling thing it does. Anyone else just DONE with ribbed tops? (I guess I got my $3 out of the tanks and can use them to sleep in now)

I think I am down to one ribbed layering tank, but it is made of nylon by Michael Stars. I agree, most ribbed things don't do it for me anymore. Customers swear by the Vince ribbed tanks, but I have not been motivated to buy one to see.

I go back and forth on this, because I also hate the spaghetti-strap, spandex camisole.

Interesting -- my favorite tanks are ribbed, and I believe one of them is a Vince one! I'm not sure that I've experienced this rolling phenomenon...

Rachy, I hear you on those spandex camis. I hate when the straps themselves are the elastic. They itch and scratch. The Kmart camis have cotton blend straps that are so much softer. But still spaghetti, but I've never had issue with thin straps, just itchy ones.

Ah, I get what you mean Mo. And the reason I haven't experienced this is I typically faux tuck my tanks or ruch them up around the waist (since they are pretty long) -- so in effect, I am "pre-rolling"

Bleah. I do not like ribbing either on tanks/tees or sweaters. I totally know what you mean about the ribbing creating a spare tire/ fat rolls.

My favorite camis are spaghetti strap but they are super thin t-shirt cotton, not spandex, and on the loose side. They are hard to find though.

I have hated ribbing for a LONG time. None in my closet and has been that way for a long time.

Ditto to abc. I saw a photo of myself in a ribbed turtleneck a long time ago (and I was even skinny then) and realized it just isn't a good look on me. Too much boobage, and IKWYM about the rolling.

Plus, I must be getting sensitive, because it was irritating my underarm area too. Changed into one of my Pub uniform regular cotton tanks and feel instantly more comfortable.

I have a couple Eddie Bauer tanks for layering and they don't create the roll. But I've learned to avoid ribbing in turtle necks, cardigans, tees, etc. I am plenty curvy without extra ones being created in unflattering spots by the ribbing and rolling of the fabric.

Ugh -- I hate the way even the finest ribbing (the sort you can't see unless you kind of pull at the fabric) on tee shirts creates an unflattering, drape at the bustline. This has made me completely swear off every kind of ribbing, even if the ribs are not easily visible.

I think ribbing is only flattering if you have the sort of chest where going braless might be an option.

I'm over ribbing too I think. I haven't worn any of my ribbed tanks this year or my ribbed Henley's last fall/winter. I wore them a lot at one time but I also think they are more body con than I'm wearing right now.

I can't think of any ribbed items in my entire wardrobe. I guess I don't like ribs, but wasn't aware of it until just now.

Ribbing = spare tire! So so true Mo. They bug the heck out of me and now I know why. God knows I have enough tire on my own without that.

Yeah, no more ribbed tops for me either. They hug me in all the places I don't want to be hugged

I purged all of mine two years ago and have not missed them.

Never noticed a problem personally . Usually don't have any chaffing either unless the tanks too small . But then sometimes I'll size up and then alter the tank straps shorter.
