Q&A about individual items, ensembles, and wardrobe

Red jeans - does this outfit work?

So, I have three pics of basically the same outfit, with just few small changes... I thought about what I learned in another thread, that black is mostly too harsch with bright colours, so I went for dark blue, grey, and a bit of gold instead...

Does it work at all? Any other changes I could do? I guess a scarf could work instead of the necklace?

Very cute Karin, I love red jeans on you. I like it with the necklace and the top unknotted. We learned from Angie that tops with pants should be longer than tops with skirts. Perhaps the knotted version would be nice with a skirt.

My non-expert opinons:
I think it looks great! Would look good with a scarf or a cross body bag, too - I think. I prefer the top long without the knot.

I really like this look, my personal preference would be to wear the top without a necklace (I love the neckline) and maybe add a bangle.

You definitely suit the red jeans.

Great! I love this look on you. I prefer the 2nd version, with the long top and the necklace.

I love those skinnies! I also prefer the top unknotted with the necklace.

Those red pants are fantastic on you. Like the others it looks best to me left long and with the necklace. A scarf would also work.

You wear those red jeans so well! I bet you're one of the few people who can actually wear this look! I like option #2 too.

OMG, those red jeans look awesome on you! Love how you paired it with blue and gray. Nice. I'm also a fan of the top unknotted -- the flow is better.

Black is not harsh with bright colours if you add white or cream. I always add white or cream to that mix :0)

I want red skinnies too! (I think I might be a little old for that look though). Anyway, KILLER outfit. You have spunk, Karin. So fab. My vote goes to outfit #2 with the necklace and long top.

You look amazing in those red skinnies. I like it the best with the longer to and the necklac.

oh you look great!

...and that's really hard for me to admit because my boyfriend bought me red skinnies and I've been too self-conscious to wear them!

Wow, thanks you all for all your great comments! I'm so happy to hear how well the outfit seems to work! I'll definitely wear it again, and I'll go for the unknotted version :)

RoseandJoan - I can honestly say I don't have any bracelets whatsoever... but it's something I try to look for now and then, and if I ever find a pair I like I'll keep that in mind for this outfit! Thanks for the idea!

Angie - thanks for that input about how to not make it harsch..! I can't "see" these things myself (I can feel that something's a bit off, but can hardly ever figure out what) so it's so great for me to get these explanations here! And I'm so glad I got a "KILLER" for this one! :D

Tortoise - an extra thank you to you :) And I'm sure you could pull off red skinnies too! I remember when I bought them a couple of years ago I felt a bit nervous wearing them, wondering if I could pull it off, but at the same time just loving the colour, and feeling really happy wearing such a colourful item! And now, after figuring out what to team with for best look, I feel great in them! :) Thanks to all of you! So, why not give it a go, try with different tops and accessories? Maybe if the other items you wear are things you feel really comfortable and fab in, that makes it easier to pull off something "new"? I say give it a try, and if you'd post some pics here I can guarantee that you'll get lots of great advice and encouragement! :)
