I wear a 6P my existing skirt, which felt comfortable when I tried it on this morning.
In store, my regular size still fit me, although maybe it wasn't quite as comfortable as the one at home. I didn't get the "ruching across the hips" effect that I do with the non-petite skirt, so I think the cut still works for my body. When I tried a size up, the skirt was a bit too big and the waistband sat lower on me.
At least if you're a 6P, the new skirt is not running a full size smaller. At most, the skirt runs a quarter to half size smaller. An 8P would be too large in the new skirt. YMMV.
Managed to get photo of the skirt in store off my not-a-smartphone.
I'd be interested to hear the impressions of Kari, MaryK and others who own multiples of these skirts and are more familiar with the fit.
