Quality or price?

Last week I found two pairs of earrings on two different websites which are kind of similar. One pair is more expensive than the other but it seems to me that it is more qualitative. I don't have too much money right now but though I think that they are worthing. What do you say?

I agree the more expensive ones look to be of better quality - hard to tell online though sometimes. Good luck!

I like the look of the ones from Claire's a little better, but more detail on the other pair , and yes, better quality. But they look heavy! I don't like heavy earrings so maybe that is swaying me .

I'm also not a fan of heavy weight earrings so I vote for the cheaper (and I assume lighter in weight) pair.

My fashion budget is very limited, too, so I tend to cut corners when it comes to accessories. I vote for the cheaper ones.

It looks like the two lengths are different, so I would decide on that and on whether you prefer the rhinestones or plain (I think the plain is more versatile).

In terms of jewelry quality if I can't handle it myself, I decide based on the material it's made of. These look like they are both made of cast base metals so not much difference in quality between them probably.

It's hard to say. At this price point the quality may be very similar. I'd get the ones you like the best. If you can get out to the shops, it's easier to get a feel for the weight and size of the piece, too.

You know, I don't think the higher priced one is enough to make a difference in quality. I'd go with the less expensive pair.

It's so hard to tell the quality of jewelry online. The two pair of earrings are very different lengths, so that might be a deciding factor for you. The first pair are 15 cm, or about 6 inches long. The second pair (Claire's) are quite a bit shorter at 90 mm (9 cm) or about 3-1/2 inches long.

It's been my experience that it's really tough to tell with online jewelry what the quality is. I agree with Rabbit that it looks like the metal is probably similar in both. I think you would have to touch each of these items to see how heavy they are and how they feel.

I'm no help! I always try to buy my jewelry in person, unless it's something very simple like a thin silver chain of a certain length.

I don't say that the price makes a difference in quality, but the expensive ones simply seem to look better. I prefer to buy my jewelry in person too, but I looked for them in shops and I can't find something similar and I like a lot this model.

How much will you really wear them?...If this is a long term item and you are totally in love and will wear the tail off them..by all means go with the more expensive ones..If this is a whim and you truly know in about 6 weeks, these are going to be ho hum..go with the lesser expensive...Solved..smile...

There is a string of diamond-like stones in the first pair, which may explain why they are a bit more expensive. I imagine that when you wear them, they catch the light, which may affect how they look. I agree they look heavy, as these kinds often are.

The second pair looks very much faux gold, if that is the look you are going for, but look lighter.

However these are only speculations...

It looks like one pair is for pierced ears and one is clip on. That might make a difference in your choice. I don't think the quality is going to be that noticeable when you are wearing them.

I've decided! I'm going to buy the expensive ones because I want to wear them for a long period.

In jewelery I always go for quality. Even if the cheaper ones look good now, with the use they tend to get ugly!
