Purple and Lime Experiment

Ok, now this is really different for me - but what the heck, let me know what you think.

I was putting my work outfit together (it will be raining tomorrow and want to wear cardigan). The blouse caught my eye and one thing led to another.

I am NOT sure I will wear this - the lime is BRIGHT and the purple is DEEP.

Purple cardigan with black buttons, lime linen shirt, black cami, black pants, black pat belt, black fabric shoes. The necklace is silver, pearls and purple/blue faux gems, silver earrings.

Hi Encore, I think this looks great on you. Could just be my monitor, but the lime doesn't look that bright, more like a beautiful muted chartreuse- and very flattering on you! It's a great combo with the purple (and that's saying something for me, as I usually can't stand purple), so I'd say wear it bravely!

Encore - I agree. The lime looks softer to me as well. It's a color I wear actually. The purple almost seems like a dark neutral for some reason (at least on my screen) so it seems like it works. I'm no expert on color though! I like it together on you! :)

go for it! it looks fun and funky... though i'm not sure if my monitor is skewing it at all for me, the purple looks more like a deep blue and the lime looks a lot softer than you describe. hmmm. but still, it's a fresh combo - give it a shot!

Looks great! Go for it.

Lovely combination, go for it :-)

I like it, too.

Do it! You look great in bright color.

I think you should definitely go for it. It looks great.

Definitely a flattering color on you. Go for it!

I like it but it seems like there's too much black. Maybe a metallic, cream or grey bag or shoes? Grey pants? white cami?
You have inspired me to try my purple cardi with my lime shirt!

On my screen the colors don't look all that bright. Maybe you should ask someone in person if it is a good combo.
I love the shape of the pieces all together on you.

Thanks all - I think chartreuse is closer color (you are right Ele) and maybe the colors are not that bright or deep. Could be I am just not used to wearing this combo which is so different for me as I gravitate more toward the brown/black/red/greys.

I am working up the courage to wear it this outfit though...venturing out a little at a time..... :)

You look fab...don't hesitate to wear this out, you will get compliments!!

I agree with everyone else. You look great!

Appreciate your comments!

Joy gave me some ideas so I put together another possibility - appreciate your feedback on this one too :)

black pants, sweater, silver belt, chartreuse shirt, white tee, cream bag, animal print shoes. Is the belt too thin? I could try animal print belt but is that too matchy matchy with the shoes?

Posted 11 months ago

I like it! The belt looks especially good with the pearls...about the same color.
The cream bag and white tee help lighten things up.

Did you try this same outfit except with the purple cardi instead of the black one to keep the chartreuse/purple pairing but with some lighter neutrals in the mix? Or I can see outfit #1 with the cream bag and animal print shoes. I hate to have you give up the green/purple combo.

FABULOUS! An encore for our Encore. Your look gets better and better :0)

Here is the outfit (#3) with more tweaking - a la Joy!

purple cardi, black cami, black pants, black pat belt, animal print shoes, cream bag, silver necklace

I see how the lighter pieces really change the look - and makes it more interesting. Your feedback is appreciated - I really like outfit #2 and #3!

THANKS SO MUCH Angie for the encouragement :)

FUN color combination! Yet it is not too out there because of the neutrals and the classic styles. You look great in it.

Looks great! the cream keeps it lighter
