PSA : Denim Shirt Dress - YouLookFab Forum

Hi Fabbers,

Further to Angie's shirt dress blog post, I've noticed the denim shirt dress seems to be a " thing" at the moment and it's a trend I really like:).

Aussie Fabbers in particular might be interested in this shirt dress. It's from Millers of all places and is a cool dress. I bought it tonight and they have a 40% off members sale (i used my mums account ) so I picked it up for $24.00.

Millers has a reputation for being a bit of an old ladies store and quality is generally quite poor, but every now and again they surprise and come out with something quite modern and better quality.

The 10 was a great fit only I couldn't do it up over my hips. It would have looked great as a duster coat worn open but I really wanted the option of wearing it l done up as a dress so I bought the 12.

I need to have a play tomorrow to make sure it's not too big (it's was day's end and I was tired) and can exchange for the 10 if necessary.

Anyway, if you are looking for a denim shirt dress this is worth a look

Cute and basic - and for that price? Why not! I think I'll wear a denim tunic today - thanks for the inso - and yes, I should have been "dressed" for the day hours ago - lol.

Ooooh....its available on their NZ site too.....thanks for sharing Deborah - I would NEVER have given Millers a second thought for something like this. Its exactly what I have been looking for with its clean lines and 100% cotton chambray.

I always love the idea of a shirtdress but haven't found one that suits.
What length is this one please?

Lyn size 10 is supposed to be 103 cm. I like mine to be on the knee normally but mine is a little longer falling past my knee but in this instance I didn't mind. You wouldn't need any bigger than the 10:).

When I get up I will play and take some pictures xx

Thanks Deborah- that sounds promising.
With the longer length you could belt the 12 and it still won't be too short.

Helen, Millers is in the shopping complex I work in so when I can I have a browse, but I have to confess to having seen the denim dress on social media and did seek it out specifically

Nice dress! I think it will play nicely with your wardrobe. I have a similar dress (from Old Navy) that I have worn often as a tunic. Mine is also a size up from what I usually wear (for more ease around the hip area) and I wear it belted (as Lyn suggests) when I want it to have more "structure".

Oh I should definitely check this hint! I have been searching for a perfect denim shirt dress for myself but haven't been able to find one that suits my body ( even though I could make one myself ). Anyone has hints for where you could find denim shirt dresses for someone who has short back?
