Finding the items you need at the right price

Price Shopping Guidance

OK, I need to replace my bras...again. I usually just go to Bare Necessities and bite the bullet and buy them 4 at a time. But I thought maybe some of you savvy shoppers have some magic website or something that will help me find the best price? I tried Googling my bra of choice, and I did find some cheaper prices. One was $5 less (that would be $20 savings for 4 bras!). Another site had them at half price!!! BUT THEY DIDN"T HAVE MY SIZE!!!

So, any ideas would be greatly appreciated. BTW, the bra I wear is Fantasie of England Style # 4500. (36F) :P Thanks!

I'm going to see if I can find it in your size anywhere else, Nicole.

I found three on eBay Nicole (hope it's the right one?). I don't know if you're comfortable buying them there (they're all new!).
Two for $35, one for $39.95.

Hi Inge, Thanks so much. Uh, no I'm really not comfortable buying them from ebay. It wouldn't take much for someone to say they are new, when they are not. I just wasn't sure if there was some website you guys used that searched for the lowest price.

Nicole, FWIW, I've bought nursing bras on ebay before, and they came new and packaged. I'd look at the seller's history and number of items sold. Many sellers get their stuff at warehouse prices or sell last season merchandise.

Nicole - I have no resources for you, but I feel your pain. I just bought one new bra for $65. Ouch. It's a fabulous bra (Wacoal) but why do they have to cost so much?

I completely understand if you don't want to buy from eBay Nicole, but I agree with Marianne: many sellers purchase items in bulk and resell them via eBay, and this stuff is brand new.
If you should reconsider, I'd go for the new items with tags attached and have a look at the seller's history first.

I forgot to mention the sites you were asking about. Sometimes I use
- smartbargains.com
- bizrate.com
- yahoo.com (first click on 'Shopping' directly underneath the word Yahoo! in the middle of the screen, then enter your search term)
But I find that they often all yield the same results (I did find a few Fantasie bras, but they were all as or more expensive than on Bare Necessities).

Often you just have to do an individual search (i.e. type in your search term in a search engine and browse through the results, which can be time-consuming...).

Thanks for your help. I'll order the ones I saw for $5 less.

I forgot to mention two other sites Nicole. But you probably know these already:
nextag.com
shopzilla.com

Again, the same results though-(

Didn't Oprah have a bra that she SWEARS by. I can't remeber the name but she devoted a portion of her show to it as I recall.

I believe you can find it on her website and purchase these on line as well.

I bought some bras from ebay before. Totally worth it. They were new and about $25 apiece. One was Wacoal and the other was Chantelle, which are not cheap. I think it's unlikely for a seller to sell you a used item. They will not appreciate the negative feedback or the potential hassle or strikes against them through ebay. I have had some bad ebay experiences, but nothing terrible.

Apparently Oprah has an entire page of bras on herrroom.com: http://www.herroom.com/Oprah,815,30.html

Personally, I've had it with contour bras. I want a bare-bones, no padding bra that I can actually close my shirt over.
