When I first took notice of premium denim (maybe 10 years ago or more?) and started buying it, the holy grail was 98% cotton, 2% spandex. Today, finding this combination is like looking for the proverbial needle in a haystack. It's out there, but premium denim isn't exclusively 98/2 anymore. I was just looking at Paige jeans and they were only 33% cotton, the rest was 51% rayon and two other synthetic fabrics. My $200 Dre's are 98/2 and I tried on a pair of $30 Gap Factory jeans that were 98/2 ... it's just all over the board!

Are my views outdated on what makes denim "good?" Should I have a more open mind about other fabric combinations?
