Ok, lovely YLF world travelers... after attempting a Christmas European trip a couple of years ago, only to have to cancel it due to my stepson's hospitalization, we're trying it again this year!

We're using free travel points/miles as much as possible, so as weird as it sounds, we're flying into Munich before Christmas and flying home from London after Jan 5. We've already decided to spend Christmas in Prague after hearing wonderful things about how beautiful and festive the city is for the holiday.

So, after a quick stay in Munich and a few days in Prague, we've looked at all kinds of options and have not settled on any plan yet. We would prefer to go where we can use some of our plentiful Marriott reward points.

Any suggestions? We'd most likely want to visit places easily accessible by train (although yes, we are the crazy ones who drove from Brussels to Oslo, and from Paris to Barcelona!). I'm thinking it would be great to be near the mountains or the sea, but I'm open to suggestions. We like good food, interesting architecture and scenery, a bit of art and music and history is always good. It sounds like Amsterdam is a great place for that time of year, but we were just there last year.

Any ideas?
