Portugal and now for some color

Here are 3 outfits that I thought I'd share. As always, feedback is ever welcome. I learn so much each time I post.

1. I bought this pin striped jacket from Portugal Zara's last year. I love it even though right now I can't button it across the front! The shoes are also one of my favorites - I feel in love with them at first sight but didn't think I could wear them. They work like a charm after shoe stretching at Nordie's. They're red with black animal print.

3. I'm conflicted about the red vest. Does it work? I know the bottoms are outdated but I love the style - they make me happy and I wear them

I love the first outfit! It fits you perfect. I love your style, the way your work so well with layers!
I'm not crazy about the third.. I don't know why, it's not the trousers, I think it's the vest, the hem of the vest with the long edges!

I agree with Rute. The hem of that vest comes down too much. My vest also comes down at an angle but it is much less dramatic. I wonder if you could have it altered somehow.

The jacket and dress are both winners. Where are the peep toe flats from? They are super.

I have to admit I was expecting much more color. The first two outfits are killer. I'm with the rest about the pointy part of the vest. The outfit is really close though-- I'm often teetering with your outfits because they're so unique I don't really have anything to compare them to. But your record for pushing the envelope is pretty near perfect, I think. And did I mention I love the the fluevog shoes and your red flats?

I LOVE the blue and white frock! You in white is *always* KILLER. You know that!

I have to say that I don’t mind the red waistcoat as long as you wear it with heels. Does that make sense?

Patience - you're right, I usually do a lot more color but I guess I was "ramping up" from my neutral color challenge chain And yes, I know you like my shoes - as I do yours - especially that red one - killer! Lastly, congrats on your pregnancy Patience.

Angie - thanks. Yes, I love white and have to literally restrain myself from picking up yet another crisp white outfit each time I go shopping. I think you're saying heels work with the vest because of the pointy part of the vest?

Taylor - thank you. It's nice to hear that feedback. At 43, if I didn't know who I was, I'd say I was in trouble

I like all three outfits, and LOVE love love the first one. Combining the horizontal strips with the pinstripe jacket is brave and works super well, and the shoes are the icing on the cake. Very fresh and fun.

Sihaya, I love your outfits and colorful pieces. Have you tried the red vest over a button-down shirt like the white one in the first outfit? I could see the points of the vest echoed in a pointy collar. Love the shoes!!

I love your outfits and your sense of color is fablulous.
I adore the first outfit with that beautiful blazer. Would you call that a boyfriend blazer? I wonder if it buttons straight down or if it has a design feature that cuts back at the waist?
The dress is so pretty. I love it, and with the yellow Fluevog shoes it makes an amazing outfit.
The red vest with points doesn't look at all strange to me. I would have never even noticed the points, they just look normal to me. I have seen many vests made like that. To me that is a good feature. I love the color too. I had a grey vest that I returned because it seemed too business and office like. I need one that is more fun like this one.
I would love to have some of your skill with color and with making things so "you" instead of so off the rack.

Thanks Antje - I hadn't even consciously thought about combining horiz w/vertical but now that you mention it, it works!

Joy - I will try with a woven and see how that works.

Angie - you are such a good coach, thank you.

San - the jacket has only one hook in the middle and then cuts away again if you know what I mean. I'm too thick around my mid section right now to demonstrate with a photo. Thanks for the compliment - I am honored And you DO have great skill - in so many, many ways.
