The first one just knocks my socks off! So fab!

That Angie is SUCH a rabble-rouser Good thing she's so innocent looking - she can get away with anything!!

Thank you, Inge! I love hearing from you!

Jonesy, when you see this outfit live in person, it will be with either flat black boots or black ballet flats, because if you've ever tried to keep up with Angie on a shopping expedition -- well, let's just say you need your wits and your flats about you.

Interesting how different color combinations conjure up meaning. Personally, I didn't like black and orange because they were my high school's colors (we were the Tigers, natch) and it's really hard to look anything but hideous in a florescent orange gym uniform.

Gosh this outfit is so amazing that I'm at a loss for words.

*spreading more trouble*

I just love all of thtem, Laura. This shirt is going to be a real workhorse for you. It should work beautifully with colored denim as well.
I don't have a poisoned eye for orange and black (or for yellow and black) so I love this color combination as well. Stunning! I think these oxfords wotrk really well here as well.
I am also agonizing about an outfit for the meetup: how to keep it stylish and practical for a lot of shopping in the same time so I can try on as much as possible without going to the dressing room... Well there is still more than a week to decide!

For me, it's a clear, simple Crayola orange paired with solid black that reminds me of Halloween. So if it's a tomato orange/red paired with a black textured item (like the outfit you wore, Angie) it seems less Halloween-y to me, if that makes any sense at all :).

Yes, it is quite tricky to plan what to wear to the meet-up, eh? So many variables to consider....must be stylish, chic, practical, easy to get on and off, comfortable, weather-friendly...whew! So I know what you mean, Sveta!

At this point, I am leaning toward wearing a dress over a pair of floral silk pants....I have been very inspired by all of the dresses/skirts over pants looks on the runways (including Chanel--did you see the show?). I will probably wear booties with a small, walkable heel, and I have a new patterned top coat that I am itching to wear. I am hoping that my swift, large stride will help me out in keeping up with Angie and all of you YLFers!

Laura what an amazing assortment of items that all work so well together. I LOVE the first outfit! Fantastic.

You will all have such a great time at the meetup. Looking forward to the reports! Sounds like it will be quite colorful.

*fanning and completely breathless*

Umm, WOW. That pretty much says it. I'm not worthy!

Wow you look amazing. I love the orange and black colorblocked combo--not Halloween at all. You look so sophisticated and stylish--love it with the oxfords and boots too. I cannot believe you found that orange Kate Spade at TJ Maxx. I was just at mine looking for an orange bag--came away with a purple and orange Guess one but nowhere near as fab as yours! So jealous!

Amazing. You have just given me so much inspiration Laura. These outfits, combinations of colours, prints and shapes, the whole mood really, just refreshed my interest in orange and mod looks in a big way. BTW you look fab ^_^

Phew! I am out of the Halloween Outfit Woods

Jonesy! Your outfit sounds amazing! I am excited to physically see YOU in it. I think I should wear plaid.....

Laura, stunning!!!
I can't wait to see the photos from the meet up!

Stunning. I love the "mod" feeling of this outfit. It has a 60s vibe for me, especially with your pixie. For me, this ranks with the best of the best on YLF.

SQUEE!! Luv all three looks!

Thanks Kyle and AJ, your words mean so much. It's funny so many people mention "mod" because it wasn't in my mind when I bought the dress, but I recently found a scrapbook from the 90s where I had cut out and pasted (hello, life before Pinterest) pictures of styles I liked, and they were SO mod. The skirts/dresses were also shorter but of course I could wear that back then. This whole experience makes me realize that mod is probably my favorite look and I should hone in on that. Maybe mod is my interpretation of modern classic. Hmmmm. You all have helped me have a style epiphany!

I haven't read this whole thread but I think you look gorgeous.

I LOVE your outfit, too! I would have never thought to put the black shirt under the dress, but absolutely love it!

Perfection, Laura! I cannot wait to see it in real life! I am going to be surrounded by a group of uber stylish ladies and I have NO idea what to wear! I'm already panicking!

Can't wait for next Saturday!

Laura, you look amazing. Absolutely amazing. I love when a new piece instantly mixes into your wardrobe effortlessly and creates a new purpose for old orphans.

Laura, I'm so glad you kept your 1990s inspiration pics! I used to have a vision board on which I stuck a pic of maybe-mod-inspired designer patent red boots with a chain or horsebit or something on them. I threw the board away a few years ago and have recently been going INSANE trying to find a pic of the hazily-remembered boots online! Wish I'd kept the pic in the first place!
