Here I am doing all sorts of things I swore (to myself) I'd never try ... pattern mixing, orange with black, Miz Mooz orphans going out for a spin ... and all because of that troublemaker, Angie!

Vince Camuto colorblocked dress, JCrew Polly Popover, Kate Spade handbag, Miz Mooz Oxfords. Also tried the dress with black tall boots. Popover with dark skinnies - could also try colored denim? What do you think?

I am not sure if you saw my comment on your other thread. It is good to be right! those Miz Mooz were born for that outfit. I have a popover in route too!!!
I'm wearing mine today with pinstriped black trousers, cream PB blouse with gold threads and a structured vest.

The fact that the Miz Mooz shoes worked and are now officially un-orphaned was just a lucky coincidence! Una, I wasn't a fan of orange and black together either, ummm, until just now. I'm going to wear this to the Chicago meet-up so when Jonesy sees it in person, perhaps she'll be converted (or not!).

Looks like it's a thumbs-up for Polly - she can stay for a while.

The top is amazing with that dress *and* alone! Bravo for making those orphaned shoes work!

I would personally like a soft neutral (tan? gray?) better with 1-2, but I don't have the highest tolerance for bright-on-bright action or matching, so take that for what it's worth.

I think you could do colored skinnies with 3-4 no problem! Burgundy? Cobalt? Yellow?

Yes, Zapotee, the popover shirt is an unbelievable perfect match for our Miz Mooz. Your outfit sounds killer! Maybe you can find the handbag still - I got mine this weekend at TJMaxx. They are hard to miss, given their uber bright color.

I will be the outlier and say I am not a fan of the colorblocked shoes with the first outfit...it's so busy, my eyes went a little crazy...I need a place for them to rest...I think the boots anchored the outfit nicely in #2.

Love the bag. I almost got the orange bag at the KS sample sale, too, but held myself back!

Your matchy-matchy colourblocking with the shoes in #1 is SO on trend it's uncanny. There is much matchy-matchy on the runways (along with crazy pattern mixing). It's a KILLER to the power off KILLER outfit, which means one of the very best on YLF.

(I love causing trouble. I am more memorable that way).

(All this popover talk is giving me cravings for popovers and blueberry ice cream sitting on the lawn at Jordan Pond House in Acadia National Park ... maybe some of you know it. Sigh! Perfection!)

This is a very reddish orange. Not a pumpkin orange. Does that help, crazyone?

Nice to see that I'm not the only one who is starting to think about her outfit for the YLF Chicago meet-up :)! Una has outed me and my poison eye for orange and black, but I've gotta say that I do dig this dress with the striped top! The white, and all of the color blocking and stripes, help to break up the black and orange, IMO. I think I would prefer the dress/blouse with some different shoes (somehow the shoes seem like they are from a different era or something, compared to the blouse and dress), but obviously I am in the minority!! The other looks are fab too.

I admire your boldness and, of course, your way with dresses, Queen Dress!!

I don't come from a background where we celebrated Halloween so orange, black and white look great to my eye. Some mentioned that my outfit below looked like Halloween too. Oh well! All the better to scare people with.

Laura! These two outfits are too delicious for words!!
I'm so glad the two-toned MM oxfords were allowed to come out to play, they really are perfect for colour-blocking (hope you try them with coloured jeans too), and do give them a try with other ensembles as well?-)

Polly, Kate, Vince,... they are all winners, WOW. And you, Laura, are the star of the show: it's you who's wearing these strong, vibrant looks, not the other way around. You look stunning!

(And yep, what on earth are we to do with our Angie, putting all sorts of ideas into our heads;-)
