It seems like a good way to get the creative juices flowing with regard to new silhouettes, especially if you are shopping your closet and want to try new item combinations.

Sorry for the French overvoice, they explain that the golden frames are made of cloth and the patterns are not painted, it's embroidery and jacquard work!

There are a few Goodwill 'boutiques' here in the Bay Area, deb. In fact, there's one in a tony suburb that can't use the word Goodwill anywhere in the signage outside the store - the zoning/town rules wouldn't allow them to open in the downtown area unless they called themselves something else and didn't use 'Goodwill' or 'thrift'. It confused the heck out of me until I went inside the store and asked the employee about it when I was buying something.

Bump.
I have not seen an article but noticed the NYTimes fashion fall supplement was full of ads featuring fur or faux fur. Is this a big fall trend? (An idea for a link if someone has seen anything on this)

I think this is a great idea! All sorts of people, from athletes recovering from injuries to elderly folks with balance problems to people with chronic illnesses or pain conditions, need to use a support cane to help them get around, either in specific situations or all the time.

They're a really common assistive tool, so why shouldn't they become part of mainstream fashion?

Joy - Yes! There were several articles about it earlier this Summer in fact. I'll see if I can find them again, and then perhaps I can dedicate this week's theme to the topic. Thanks very much for suggesting it.
Laura - I can see why that can get very confusing, hmm.

Robin - Absolutely! My sis uses a cane, and we've talked about this plenty of times. Not many stylish options out there. I know of one Belgian designer who specializes in beautiful canes, but they are very expensive. Also: ergonomics are extremely important. The way the handles are shaped, for example, different people will find different shapes more comfortable, some designs can even cause extra discomfort or pain, etc.

Can you put this one in next week's, Inge? --it took me too long to find it again! I found this verbal description of how to do juxtaposition opened my eyes to a couple I hadn't thought of before. This is the wordy version of what Angie shows us visually with her Polyvores. Maybe it will help things click in place for someone else.
