Plaid or Gingham?

Hi ladies,

It's been a long time! I've been going through a lot of transitions during the past few months (work, work, work, moving, European travel, divorce and dating) and feel ready to update my style.

Tomorrow, Anna and I are going out to a meetup that might involve wine, live music, and dancing. The event is outdoors and the weather might be a bit chilly.

I bought a couple of tops and jeans today since my casual capsule is underpopulated. A few questions:

1. Do you prefer the plaid or the gingham?
2. If the gingham, the necklace with the chains or the silver balls.
3. If the gingham, the oxfords or the low heels?
4. If the plaid, the necklace inside the collar or outside?

I think both look great on you but have slight preference for plaid because it goes well with your hair and complexion. I like it best with necklace inside collar but that's totally a personal thing because I don't like my shirts button all the way up.

What ever you have been doing it certainly agrees with you because you look ravishing!

Both shirts look great. Given that the weather may be a bit chilly, I prefer the plaid shirt because of the autumn like colorway. For an evening affair, I like the necklace inside the shirt collar. The undone buttons give the shirt a more relaxed look. Do you need a topper, given the forecast?

I like both options on you... they look quite different. With the gingham I like the silver ball necklace more and the heel. It's a very cool casual yet polished look. ☺
The plaid on the other hand is cool & casual yes, but it's FUN at the same time because of the colors in the shirt and that's lighting up your face! I also prefer the ballet flats with it.
Whatever you choose,you're going to look gorgeous! Have a wonderful time ☺
P.S.- necklace inside the collar...

I don't think I can choose. They have a really different vibe from one another and both look great.

Gingham! Either necklace works, but the chains caught my eye first, probably because of the photograph where you look so gorgeous.

I would prefer a lighter colored shoe with these jeans. But if I have to pick between the two, it would be the oxfords.

ETA -- coming back to say, I now love the plaid shirt too, because it looks great with the black skinnies (didn't like the plaid as much with the light colored jeans but it looks just right with the black, or are they dark navy?). Can you keep both tops to provide a more populated environment for your casual things?

CocoLion, yes, I'm keeping both I think you're right about the color of shoes.

I also don't like the plaid shirt with the light colored jeans. It surprised me how much better the darker jeans work.

I like the gingham with the silver beads necklace and the oxfords, and I like the plaid with the dark jeans and necklace inside the collar.
Hope you have a great time! Hope the (expected) rain is finished by the time you go out.

Plaid, pic 6: semi-tuck, darker jeans, red ballet shoes = STUNNING! You look ready for fun and dancing. Whatever you decide, I like the necklaces inside the collar in all instances. Have a fab time!

I like both shirts very much. I am going to say Look1 with the gingham shirt and silver beads looks extra smashing and I prefer that look. It's polished, feminine, stylish and just perfect for the weather. The necklace will look best inside the collar.

The plaid shirt has some fun colors...and that necklace is great with it too. Keep that for the next casual night out

Hi, I like both shirts but the plaid with the black as you said. I am an advocate of buttoned-up shirts and instead of a necklace I would go for a statement kind of earring. Maybe it is just me but I think the busy patterns are enough without a necklace.
Both shirts are a nice look for you!

Amy you have always been very pretty but now you look stunning.

I have a slight preference for the gingham but it may be because my personal preference for cooler colors is influencing me. They both look great on you in terms of fit and color.

I prefer the ball necklace with the gingham but would like to see it on the inside just inside the edge of the shirt. I also prefer the low heels with the light jeans.

With the plaid, I prefer the necklace on the inside as well. The outfit with the black slim jeans and red ballet flats is outstanding. Wear it often please.

At first it was the gingham because I love the shoes in #1, but then I decided to switch to the plaid (#6/7) with the darker pants because overall I like those colors better.

Both are great and it is a hard choice. The only think I have a strong preference for is the necklace inside the plaid shirt. I think it looks more fun and casual that way.

I love both tops. And both outfits. The gingham shirt with the light jeans; the plaid with the darker jeans. I like the pumps with the jeans -- but Anna knows the venue / situation so maybe best to listen to hear. Love the necklaces any which way.

The gingham is more ladylike and polished, while this particular plaid is a must-keep also for your coloring. I do prefer it with the dark jeans, to bring out the richness.
I think that speaks to how they will serve different purposes, so you can use both!
