Pearls and a black turtleneck

Marianne's thread got me thinking about this and I'll be waiting for Angie's post but I just wanted to put this out there. I've been looking for ages for an interesting pearl necklace to wear over black turtleneck to brighten it up. For now I guess a longer plain strand will have to do but are there any tips for finding something that works?

I personally love the idea of long pearl necklace on a black ribbon, where pearls are big and separated. I think I might have seen something like tat somewhere, but I do not remember where or when :( But I would like something like that for myself as well.

I love pearls with a black turtleneck too. I have a set of multi colored * potato* pearls that look great in a casual way because they have blue, yellow, cream, and black, they look great with denim and a black turtleneck... and not to expensive , about 100 dollars a strand:) A friend got mine on QVC

AT has the type Tanya was describing:)

I also like the kind with large pearls spaced out by metal links. I remember seeing them everywhere, Express, WHBM, Macy's, but now of course I can't think of any specific example.

Marianne, thiat is the style I've been mostly focused on, but I can't seem to find one that I love. WHBM always has some really tempting ones, but to me their quality is terrible for the price and even the ones I've tried (I just bought one to bring home and try) haven't done it for me. I guess I'm pretty particular.

I hear you, Patience - that's why I don't own one, even though I like the concept. WHBM stuff often looks good from across the room, but it seems tacky when you get closer. I have the hardest time with jewelry - I rarely like something, and then if I do, it turns out to be really expensive :(

Get yourselves off to AT soonest :0)

I'm sure I read in an interview that Joan Rivers uses the same factory as Chanel for the production of her synthetic pearls, if quality is an issue may be worth a look. I think she sells her range through QVC in the UK.

I was going to say AT, but Angie beat me to it. AT is always having sales, too.

I really like this look too, Patience. It's very classic.

AT always has so much amazing jewelry around the holidays!! I saw some of their pearl/bling jewelry IRL today and the pictures really do not do them justice - they are gorgeous!
