Patience's New Hairstyle!

Hi Everyone! Patience, Sarah and I got together today for coffee and a little shopping. When Patience arrived, I thought she had used a curling iron to curl her hair, but she had gotten her hair cut and styled today and wore it naturally curly/wavy. It looked so pretty! It turned out she went and saw Bobby, who is my hairstylist (I guess her hairstylist too, now). :) He's so awesome!

I took photos to post here, since things are so busy with her little ones, we weren't sure if she would have time to take any this evening. The curl is soft and really pretty. I don't think the photos do her hair justice because it was windy today, which was kind of making it flatten a little bit. I hope she wears it this way all the time. :D But what do you guys think?

How lucky to have hair that waves like that! Love it.

Patience definitely looked stunning - I love her hair!

Stunning!!! I adore this type of curl. I bet it looked even better in real life. :)

Can you believe I never knew my hair was so curly? I was really skeptical when Bobby told me my hair was curly-- I've only ever really had round brush style curls in my hair. I also was hesitant because I just couldn't imagine it. But the results put me on a high for the rest of the day. I feel like my hair is doing what it was meant to do. ;)

So what do you think as compared to my previous 'do?

I really like the waves for a change. Do you think your hair is getting curlier because of your pregnancy?

Well I never. Patience has natural curls! They look so romantic. Now you know you don’t need to fight with the straightening tongs daily. Sweet!

I like both the curls AND the sleek look on our Patience. Nice that you can mix it up. Variety is the spice of life :0)

I have always thought you had gorgeous hair...and a beautiful face. You are a natural beauty.

Glad you found someone who has brought out something new and fun to your hair and overall style:)

I love your new hairstyle Patience! It really takes advantage of your natural waves and totally suits you.

Patience, your hair looks beautiful wavy! You should wear it like this often. I love the versatility of wavy/curly hair. You can really play with different looks.

I love it. And the exact same thing happened to me- I never knew my hair was curly/wavy until I got the right haircut. I love being able to wash, scrunch and go. And it has gotten much, much healthier without the blow dryer or flat iron.

Wow, beautiful! Patience, I think you look stunning with curls OR straight hair.
I'm envious that your hair allows you to do both styles well!

OMG. Your hair is amazing. I think I need to move to Texas and get Bobby to be my hairdresser. *g*

I love it Patience! You are gorgeous! Love the colour of your shirt too!

Lookin' good, P! Lookin' good!!

Your hair looks so soft and flowy, and EASY! What busy mommy wouldn't want that in a hairstyle? I think that it looks more natural and low-maintenance than your other 'do. Although, you can rock both. Maybe for now, you lay off the styling implements and go natural. You could always straighten, or round brush for certain occasions. What do you think?

The blue shirt looks great on you too. Love the color!

Just curious...How did you not know that you have curly hair? How did you wear your hair growing up? Your hair color and texture resemble my cousin's. What is your ethnic background, if you don't mind me asking?

Thanks for all of the compliments, ladies! I think this style really appeals to my inner child. I was a pre teen in the late '80s when everyone was getting perms. My mother would never let me have one and the closest I could ever get was washing my hair at night and having her put rollers in it for special occasions. Turns out I don't even need a perm-- just the right technique.

Laura, you make a good point about the pregnancy thing. My hair is the one thing that has been treating me nicely. I suspect it is always curly but possibly even more curly when I'm pregnant. I guess I just won't know till next year.

Lesley, I'm half Cuban with Spanish heritage. I always knew my hair was wavy but it gets mostly straight just by brushing. The stylist told me to never brush my hair when it's curly. And yes, I LOVE that it's so easy. I also LOVE the variety. You're exactly right that the curly seems appropriate for more casual mom days and straightening to take things up a notch in sophistication.

Lovely curls! I hope you will go naturally curly more often!

Patience's hair is sooo pretty!

Looks great, Patience. I think pregnancy gave me curlier hair as well, but mine stuck around after delivery so I guess I'm going with it now. I find it's so much easier to get out the door if I'm not working against my hair. Hope you enjoy it 'cause it looks wonderful!

Looking great patience! How fun it is to find out that you have natural curls. You get to play around with all sorts of styles.

The curls look great Patience and isn't it great having the versatility of doing either. My hair is naturally wavy (well, more like frizzy). I usually blow it out for most of the fall/winter/spring but most summers I wear it curly because it is just too much trouble to keep it straight in the humidity. However, my curls never look as great as yours! I just ordered the Curly Girl book that Ele recommended in another thread so hopefully I can figure out how to style it better. I would love to hear what techniques/products your stylist recommended.

Absolutely gorgeous! This is a great look for you.

I'm late but you are so beautiful Patience! You could shave your head and still be pretty. The curly hair looks so organic and soft, but you look great either way.

BTW, now that you have all met, what was the consensus on your hair color Ana? I'm very curious!
