I was inspired by Angie's post today because last weekend I bought two plaid tunics. I love tunics this year and wear them everywhere so why not to a holiday party. My version is super casual because that's my style. Comments and advice are welcome.

Bonnie, I love these on you -- especially that blue/violet! It's really electric in the best possible way. Just love it.

Super cute! I think the blue is perfect. The red/green pendant gets a little lost on the red top, but otherwise I like that one too.

These tunics are so pretty on you. They both look quite festive to me, with the black pants and dressy shoes. Nice jewelry choices, too! What about wrapping the second necklace a few times and wearing inside the neckline of the tunic? I like the idea of bringing the sparkle up by the face for a little dressier look.

Found them on the anthro site. The model pics look like it's a pretty drastic hi/low hem, but on you I don't see that. Do you mind to share details on fit/sizing? Some reviews seemed to favor petites, maybe for that reason?

I just cracked and ordered the last red one in PS. The site is really wonky so I had to call. The guy gave me free shipping even thought it's under the promo amount.

I didn't see petites available online, and reg XL is sold out (assuming in anthro that would be my size though the reviews seem to say it runs big).

I thought about chancing it, I will be back in the USA on Nov 30. Hmmm...

Let me know about the hi/low hem, will you guys please? Thanks.

It does have a high low hem and I'll be wearing it that way but for the photo, I tucked it up in back - is that wrong? I wear a S or M and both of these tops are M and I probably could go down a size but DH and the SA assured me that this size worked. (abc, I've added a photo of the tunic with the original hem.) What do you think - does it look better without the long back? I like it long in back but I could easily alter it to look as it does in the first photo.

I struggle with the longer hem in back because of proportions. I'm 5 ft 5 inches but I find sometimes with the longer back it throws off the proportion, making me look stumpy-legged. In the pic you just posted I don't really see that much of the back, though, so you're probably ok. And if it can be hemmed easily that makes me lean toward maybe trying it out. Thanks for your reply and really it is a beautiful piece (as is the blue as well!)

abc - I just realized that I posted the wrong photo so I have changed it to show the longer back. I am almost 5 ft 5 and am pretty sure that this is the regular length. It's a lightweight cotton and because of the color and design, it should not be difficult to hem.

Lovely way to wear plaid. I like the lightweight fabrication. Since I like fabric to drape rather than insulate (I run warm), these appeal to me. Very flattering and practical. The red says Christmas to me; but the blue will be cheery on grey Winter days, and in early Spring.

I note that you folded up the back hem. I like it better that way (although the hi/lo works, too). You could always alter the hem, if you wish. Of course......alterations can be a pain! I always do mine at my mother's house, since she has a cute little sewing room, and is using cooking for my family while I sew!

I like it better with the less exaggerated hi-low hem. I would probably alter it to look like that.
