Pairing a High-Waisted Leather Skirt

I have this knee length high-waisted (faux) leather skirt from Zara that I dug up from a dark corner of my closet. I'm excited that it still fits! But I don't know what to wear it with. Ideas?

I have a high waisted leather pencil skirt. Looks great with tucked in blouses...a plaid fitted shirt and a statement pile of pearls for a more fun look, or a fitted sheer blouse for a dressier look.

I kind of like it with the cropped top as pictured on the Zara website. I think it would also look fabulous with an asymmetrical tunic top.

I'd pair it with booties or boots with bare legs or maybe sheer black hose. (Various kinds of heels and flats could work too but I'd think about if you wanted to balance out any potential bombshell-ness with a top with more volume depending on the context). Up top I'd try a chunky oversized sweater as in the picture (neutrals including black would be easy but many other colors or patterns would work). Alternately a top that is cropped and boxy or maybe flowy and tucked in and plays up the high waist line. Turtlenecks with texture that aren't bodycon would work.

Fun skirt too. I like to "de-bombshell" a pencil skirt, so try semi-tucking a drapey fluid or oversized blouse or pullover with the skirt. Boxy cropped top could be fun too. Or a high-low blouse worn untucked like this style.

Thank you all for the inspiration! So true with de-bombshelling the pencil skirt. I went with a tucked in flowy top and some flats. Joy, I love the faux wrap top! Will try to find something similar.
