I posted a few weeks ago that my father was in the hospital. After two and a half weeks, he was released on Monday evening. Yay. He is recovering well and even getting out and about. Sadly he has an ostomy bag which isn't great but with any luck, it will be temporary.

I did an experiment and painted an upholstered chair early on as stress relief. I learned from the experiment and did a second one this past week. I used regular latex paint mixed 1:1 with fabric medium and a bit of water for the first coat and left out the water for the second coat. The chairs were minty green before and are now silvery white. I darkened the wood on with minwax wipe on cloths and then replaced the trim with a newer cord that is a blend of silver and white. I think they are pretty. I had intended to use more modern streamlined pieces in my LR but when I saw these chairs I was reminded of how much I appreciate the curves of the art deco movement. I am rethinking the whole thing again.

Here are a few before, during and after pics.

Ignore the mess. I am using the LR with a drop cloth for better lighting and have another project in the works already.
