Outfits from last weekend

I forgot to post these last weekend:

Wore this last Thursday:

... but different jeans, shoes, jacket. Which way do you like it best?

These teal T-straps are very comfy, and I love them, but find them hard to wear because the strap is an odd shade of cream - more of a beige. I was thrilled to realize it worked with this top.

Here's what I eventually settled on for Saturday night's fashion show:

I met a woman at the show and I told her about YLF so she may be lurking here!

That purse is from Club Monaco.

Wore this last weekend to run errands including going to the mall:

Looks better buttoned (defines waist). I LOVE LOVE LOVE this shade of green, but I'm never sure if it loves me back? Last year I finally gave up a cardigan in this shade, since 1) it was hard to find anything to go with it and 2) every time I wore it I didn't feel right. I saw this blouse at BR and figured I'd give it a shot, maybe a blouse will work better? Does it work with black and white?

Wore this last Sunday night, to a different fashion show:

I was probably underdressed for that one, but I was tired and craving something comfy. My feet hurt too - so I hauled out these grey spectators which are my most comfortable heels. Does this sweater work with this blouse?

Great outfits, Shiny! It's always fun to see your Paris jacket.

Love the first outfit, Shiny! That blouse and those shoes are made for each other and I love how the black cardigan allows the blouse, shoe, and handbag colours to shine. Lovely.

I certainly think that green can be worn with black and white. It's a very graphic colour combo, which is always interesting.

Not so sure about the shape of the last sweater with the blouse - I feel like there could be better proportions?

Shiny - you always look stunning!

I love the AT top, I do prefer it in the first pic though.

LOVE LOVE LOVE what you wore to the fashion show!!

On the outfit with the green top & black/white jacket, I agree something in the coloring is not right. At first I thought it was the jacket but you wear black/white a lot & it looks great on you. So, maybe it is the green top. Or, maybe it's the combo of the 2. Do you have a teal jacket you could try the green with? Maybe the hue's are off it's hard to tell from pic's if this would work or not....Or, could you try the green top with a cream or denim jacket? Maybe then we can pinpoint if it's the color or the top or not?

By the way, I wanted to tell you on your capsule wardrobe challenge - LOVE the shoes!!! I typically don't like one's with a strap like that but the strap seems to be across the foot more than the ankle & they look stunning!! :)

Hey jsut noticed - did you paint your kitchen? Maybe that coloring is working into the eye here also? Maybe not, just noticed though. :)

Those shoes you wore on Thursday are HOT! I like the first outfit best of the two with that top because of them. I think the other boyfriend jacket would also be good with that top/shoe combo because of the lining in the sleeves. Even if the colors aren't the same, Angie explained a while back that white/off white paired creates an optical illusion that makes it work. And it does. I tried it.

All the outfits are great. I definitely think the sweater works in the last top. With the green top, I love the silhouette of the top but agree maybe the color isn't right. You look more sallow in that picture.

You are so stylish! I'm gonna start copying you ;-)
I loved your Thursday outfit, and I did think it was a better outfit of the 2.
I also loved your first fashion show outfit-- how is it that you are a n hourglass and can get away with a big bow at you waist? Honestly, it was fabulous! I couldn't do that in a million years!

Shiny, you really shine! You have an amazing closet. I love all of your jackets and you wear them so well. I especially like the cropped style on you with the starry night blouse. Great ensemble. I love how you can change one item (jacket, in this case) and get a totally different look. The boyfriend jacket is another great look for you--just a little more casual than the cropped version. I'm constantly learning from you! Oh, and your shoe collection is to die for too!

You look great!

Your shoes are so cute! In regards to your first question, I like the first way better with the t-straps. You look so great for your Saturday show! Again, I love your shoes. :D For the blouse, that's kelly green right? I think it looks good with your hair! I'm not sure if I'm reading the color right though because of the lighting. My favorite outfit was your last one. That top is fab! You look wonderful in all of these. :)

Ellen - I think I know what you mean about the cardi shape. I was just so tired and craving comfortable clothing so I was aiming for a kinda... slouchy... look! I wanted to be casual but it was a fashion show ... you can tell I was torn, the outfit is half and half.:-)

JG - I have a teal sweater. Do you think it would go with this green? I would've never considered that. Hmmmm... and yes, the kitchen was recently painted: our own Greenglove picked out the color!

Alecia - thanks for relating Angie's tip about white/off-white. I will have to experiment with that, because these shoes are comfy and it would be nice to be able to wear them more. The red shoes are Nine West (last season). They are 4-hour shoes. The next day my feet pay for it, but while I'm wearing them, they are comfy.

Queenie - imitation is the sincerest form of flattery... which is why I copy Angie all the time! I don't know about the bow. Good question! I consider myself an hourglass - but one with a thick-ish waist. So anything that nips me in at the waist is great. I actually wore the jacket casually unbuttoned most of the night.

Kellygirl - thanks! The cropped jacket is Necessary Objects. Kinda same quality as H&M, so it won't last forever. I got it last season to experiment with the shape. Now this season I'm experimenting with the BF blazer shape with this humongously discounted Theory blazer. I have grown to like both, but for different reasons. Totally different moods. This was fun, trying it with same blouse, different jacket. Similar to what you are doing with your dress in your other thread!

Thanks San. :-)

Oneirix - I am craving to add more pumps to my closet... I feel like I'm so limited lately. So thank you (everyone) for admiring the shoes. Makes me feel better! Yes, I think I'd call the blouse kelly green. My eyes are greenish so this color brings out the green, which is probably why it draws me to it all the time. I have a serious positive emotional reaction to the color when I see it on a rack... just love the color. I just don't know if it works with my skin tone. Interesting you say it looks good with my hair; I have been wondering if the hair color was wrong for it. I just got a glaze which darkened up my blond a bit (closer to my "real" shade), so I'm now itching to wear this shirt again and see how it goes. I do think the lighting in the photo is quite accurate. It might be I just have too much pink in my skin??

Any other suggestions for the green blouse? I.e., layers to wear over it? I'm not ready to give up here... I want to get this color to work.

Shiny - Can you post some pic's of the green top with other combinations so we can get a feel for color. I have a feeling something else might work with it better. I'm not sure on the teal - it depends on the hue's you have I think. I'm no expert on color but I know sometimes it works for me & sometimes it doesn't. What about that top with a cream jacket & pearls also?

Wow shiny, you really look amazing! I love everything, but the first fashion show outfit is absolutely stellar.

Oh wow, I absolutely adore your style. Perfection. So flawlessly chic and stylish.

I LOVE those t-straps. What brand are they? Your flats for the mall outfit look similar to a pair of Stuart Weitzman ones I have. What are they? I love all your shoes...

I have style envy!

Your Paris jacket outfit is KILLER. Straight off the streets of Paris :0)

But everyday is fabulous too!

Amazing outfits as always. I adore the Paris jacket too - so chic!

Marianna, the gray pumps are Aerosoles, believe it or not! I always associated that brand with frumpy old lady shoes, but last year I found two pairs of adorable AND very very comfortable heels. The second pair is a red patent round-toe pump that has a strap around the ankle.

Your fashion show outfit is amazing! What a great set of outfits, Shiny. My favorite one has the silky plaid top and the contrast trim cardigan with the grey shoes. I think that one is Killer. :D Thanks for posting these, I always enjoy seeing what you put together.
