Outfit lab- bronze skirt?

I purchased this skirt for $2 for a theme party. There are lots of metallic midi skirts around so I wondered if I could wear it in my real life. I have styled it with four tops and four different footwear options.

1. Grey and black " love and hate" tee with pointy pumps.
2. Black hi lo tee with sandal boots.
3. Black crop jacket with tank under and nude stacked heel sandals.
4. Red tee with pale ankle boots.

Excuse the hair and different angles please. Is the skirt a possibility or am I missing the mark? If so how would you style it? I don't want to buy anything new to wear with it but may have other options in the wardrobe.

It looks kind of silverypewter on my screen, so not sure what is the color, except that it reads "cooler". Maybe it is taupe-y bronze?
Not sure what part of your real life you mean--i could certainly see it for going out to dinner, or theater--anywhere you would wear dressy separates. For me it would not be a work item.
Random thoughts
--I like the dark or more neutral colors better than the bright red. Kind of soft tonal with the metallic.
--The shorter top works better
--the dark shoes and dark top are a nice mix, and provide a kind of bookending even though your hair is lighter in color.
--for dressy you might try a top in a dressier fabrication and with more structure than a T shirt. Or a crisp white shirt, short with straight hem.
--for more funky use of a midi, such as daytime wear for smart casual, maybe a sweater with more texture--think mohair but minus the itch--and then try your boots or booties with that.
--if wearing lighter footwear, maybe try some soft cream-colored tops --not exactly "white out" but all light neutrals.

Pewter is probably a better description thanks unfrumped. I also like the shorter tops . I can also imagine a short sweater with it but I am not sure I quite have the right one. I appreciate your comments.

I love this color! It's a lipstick color I m always trying to find. Wear it! I think cool dark colors will go best, or taupe neutrals. Or brown.

Thanks AG. I will give it a go. It is not super quality but I think it could work for a girls night out - I can't see myself wearing it during the day. I could wear it for work as I work from home so that is another option to see how I feel in it.

I like the skirt best with the peep-toe booties.
I think either you need shorter a top or partial to full tuck on the posted tops.
Also do you have a moto?

I just love midi skirts like this. I think a fitted top like the red in the last photo works best and balances the volume of the skirt. A top like that in different colours would work quite well (black, cobalt).

What about a classic white shirt, tucked and belted? As far as shoes I personally like the lower vamp options (1 and 3).

I second Anna's suggestion of a moto. I feel like this skirt would look best with a top that isn't straight across at the bottom. I also think lower contrast is better Hereford proportions. The waistline is the difficult area here because of the volume of the skirt. I want something that moves my eye over that area.

I'm in love with this skirt! I have I say, tho, that it is one of those things I could never wear. I'm not really a skirt person and I have no waist so my comments do not come from any kind of experience, just dreaming. I agree that this color and skirt might be best worn with colors on the same spectrum if the aim is figure flattery. I'd love to see it with a cropped, textured or chunky knit sweater in a really similar tone with booties. But Id also love to see it with a white shirt, could be cool. And I really Anna's Moto jacket idea. It gives me the feeling of an update on a 50s girl.

I also have a ton of questions for you! The skirt looks like it might have great movement. What is the material? How did you get it for $2? What is the theme of the party and how are you dressing this up?

Yes, you might as well try it as real clothing, what have you got to lose (except maybe your dignity), right, lol? I'm just kidding; it looks perfectly dignified. I think I like it best in picture 1B. I really like the footwear there, and something about the hemline of the top seems to work particularly well.

It was a purchase from a charity/thrift/ opportunity shop! We were going to a party as Bonnie and Clyde so I was hunting for retro items - in the end I wore a tweed skirt which I already owned not this one but I have been thinking about wearing this but have been unsure how to carry it off. I enjoy a few retro pieces and try to mix pieces in with classic and/or current items.

I don't have a Moto nor a classic white shirt- sadly! Have considered a Moto and there are some available now at good prices here in NZ. White shirts I like on others but struggle to wear myself.

I liked 2 and 3 best with any of the shoes except the boots. I would not wear the waist band uncovered but I would wear with a wide belt - maybe? I will try a couple of other choices and photograph again.

I love this on you! The colour is a lovely complement to your hair. (I love taupe, so you know where that is coming from.)

Like Anna, I like it with the peep toe booties and I think a shorter neutral top and possibly a moto if you find one. I definitely think it is worth playing with!

Late to the party but wanted to say how much I love the skirt. I like all renditions of the shoes. The classics look as good as the more fashionable pairings. Nicely done.
