today's outfit- headed into the library for the day to do some work on my Politics essay. I recently bought the black dress and am looking for some feedback about it. I think it might be too long but as a fairly recent convert from miniskirts, I am unsure about skirt lengths. I bought the shoe-booties (unaware of the correct term) a few days ago on a half-price sale, and despite the 3 inch heel, these are so comfortable. I am staying in my comfort zone of black with this outfit and would like some ideas of how to incorporate some colour into this outfit.

The length looks great! How about a chunky necklace to start bringing in some colors? Here are a few suggested places to check out for fashion jewelry: Express, Chico's, ATL, J Crew, AT. Any color will work with the black, and I bet red or green would look real nice with your coloring.

The dress is very nice and the length is good. I think Angie made great suggestions for adding depth to the outfit. I also like Antje's suggestion of a necklace as that's what immediately popped into my head as well. You're in Ireland, correct? You can browse the websites of the stores listed above and get an idea of styles and then look locally. Also, etsy.com has many artisans all over the world and they have some very nice necklaces as well. A colored handbag would also be fun.

That's a lovely dress indeed, and I like the suggestions that have been made.

A few other ideas: since it has short sleeves, how about a colourful bracelet? Do you ever wear it with tall boots? Then perhaps you could wear wine-coloured tights or another colour you like with them, it would add a very subtle splash of colour;-)

Pretty dress! I think you could add color with a necklace or scarf. If it's cold enough, you could wear a bright colored cardi with it as well. Sometimes with black, I like to wear different color shoes as well.

Wow, I love that dress! I'd try it with black boots and bright (purple!) or grey opaque tights, with maybe a colourful necklace.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions! Accessories are definitely an area in which I am lacking, mainly because I keep losing them or breaking them, but I'll try to buy some accessories and not lose them.

No outfit photos from this weekend as I spent it mountain biking and covered in mud.
