Opinons on this wrap top

I am drawn to this wrap top in 'milk', which is basically cream. I am just not sure about the lace detail - is it dated/tacky? In general, other than on camis, are lace details like this on tops OK?

I saw "wrap top" in the subject and I already knew who started the topic!

I think the fact that the lace will match will definitely make a difference. I find the dusky purple that the model is wearing tacky because the lace trim is contrasting and looks kind of old maid-ish, but it if the whole top is white I think it could be nice. I am not anti-lace if properly implemented.

I'm not anti-lace in general, either (e.g. I like lace at the bottom of a cami, peeking out under a sweater, cardi or little jacket - but definitely only if the lace matches the rest of the cami), but I'm not a fan of the top. I find it a little something - "tacky" sounds too harsh, but just not very "now" somehow. Lacks some edge.

Thank you for your opinions ladies. I'll pass on this top. I actually don't need a new wrap top at all. I have to many as it is. I just can't seem to resist them
Benetton currently has a great one in a funky print but it's $90! And BR has a brown wrap safari shirt that I'm eying as well:

I like the top, but don't love it. I think you have better ones, and definitely can find better ones.

I LOVE DVF. I'm dying for one of her wrap tops or dresses, but I'm definitely going to try and hit a good sale. My mom has that green one you posted, but in a long-sleeve dress, and the pattern and silhouette are beautiful. It's okay to dream.

That green DVF is lovely Tanya, I'd love to get my hands on one of her dresses or tops some day too.

There seems to be quite a difference between Europe and the USA at the moment: I'm looking for a few wrap tops for this Summer and couldn't find a single one this afternoon when I went shopping with my mom. Pity because they are more form-fitting and that's what I should be aiming for.

I did buy a pair of Aerosoles slingback wedges (not on the site, the shop here has a number of shoes that aren't available in the States and vice versa). I'm hooked on wedges too, but I don't have quite so many as you... yet;-)

Inge, looks are we are style twins! Wrap tops & wedges I bet those wedges you got are comfy and lovely.

I love DVF. I actually managed to get a dress and tree tops in this past year ( well one of them was a present that started the whole thing) at super deep discounts, but they were last year or something like that ( not that I care a single bit). Since you're in Europe, check out yoox.com, they always have her stuff somewhat discounted, and occasionally there's a coupon or extra sale. I am keeping my eye on this top, I've been wanting it for more than a year now.
I just need the price to go down to at least half of what it is:

Style twins: smile, definitely 'in intention', there aren't a lot of wrap tops in my closet at the moment, but am always drawn to them and they usually look flattering on me (and Ihave been inspired by seeing your pictures on YLF too).

And indeed, lucky you with the tree tops. Hope the price of that blouse goes down soon, I can definitely see you in that. (and last year really doesn't matter with DVF, most of her pieces are timeless).
