I don't own a single solid black skirt right now. I have a hard realtionship with black in general and in spring / summer especially... and yet I am strangely attracted to this skirt.
I call it Deborah skirt because it reminds me of our fab Deborah from Oz She would rock it for sure...not sure about myself though.
Maybe it is spring but I feel restless stylewise and like I need a change. What is this change I have no clue. Yesterday I was going over online haircut pictures to see if I want a change there...now this skirt which is nothing like I usually wear. I am not even sure if I can style it to my satisfaction and feel myself in it.
They have 40% off today at BR - shoudl in go for it and see if it works? Or is the whole idea is ridiculous? It is only avavailable online so small chance anybody saw it IRL but if so please let me know if this is a quality piece.

What a funny thought! No black skirt. One feels every woman has one, even if it's just to dust the furniture with, lol. I like this skirt tremendously and you have the willowy height. But I have to admit, I have no ideas for you in one. A black dress, yes. Skirt... I don't know what you'd wear it with in terms of tops.

It's elegant and lean and I can see it suiting your figure. In a knit fabric, I think it's possibly not going to work well with nude hose as it would probably cling? You might have to go bare legged, in which case it may only be for very warm weather. I'm pretty sure you could find some tops fro your closet that would work with it. If you sent for it to try I think a big try on session would be needed to make sure it worked. I do like it!

It's a great skirt but I'm not sure how you would style it. Maybe it's your wildcard. Can you picture any outfits with it?

Oh, yes. Kind of drape I am attracted, too, by-then so hard to style it IRL, if your name isn't Deborah from Oz:-). I do have a kitted black knee length pencil with faux shutter pleats and wear it exclusively with some woven tops. Usually, all blacks, all whites or even printed in some kind of a geometric bl&w patterns all topped with a black moto like (not leather but kind of trendy woven creased fabric and zippers) or denim (blue distressed or white) jackets.
Now, yours in my opinion is rather kind of a summer maxi. Would wear it with a drapey/fluid silk shell/top with or without diagonal sleeves. Tucked in or slung banded at the hem worn over the skirt, on hips. A cami tucked in and a plaid/denim/white button down worn unbuttoned, with rolled up sleeves and tied at the waist. And Birks. D'Orsays or other flat gladiator sandals(metallic). Some higher heeled ankle sandals or kind of peep toe bootie ones (black or nude). Oh, yes. And bare legged, for sure!

I think it's fab! I'd style it like the VC tube skirts. I have the Bobeau sarong skirt that's a similar shape as this one but shorter, and I think that most top shapes that work with my VC skirt also work with that one.

I imagine it would look great on you, Sveta, and you might try wearing it with jackets or tops you would wear with black cropped pants.
That said, I really like how you wear a skirt that has more flare, like your brown and black striped one. This one won't serve as nicely for dancing, either--just a thought.

I will not discourage style experimentation, repeat, I will not....
So if it's fairly painless you should try.

I'd have trouble with footwear--always do with longer skirts. I'd want the photo look of glam heels but can't wear them.
You have managed to look great in flats with a lot of things that challenge me, so that might work. I think your height helps. And actually the longer length may be easier than a shorter midi.

I kind of love it. In fact, I find it tempting myself. I'm on a skirt moratorium these days, but that's really for fall/winter skirts, and this looks breezy enough for spring/summer. I can't remember wearing a skirt once this past winter, but I do wear them in summer. But back to you! I think it's worth trying -- you could certainly pull it off with your height.

Well I love it! But you knew I would. Sveta I think you have the height and lovely slender figure to carry this off beautifully. I also think that you probably have lots of lovely toppers to go with it. I think it calls for minimal and simple styling. You could tuck or semi tuck a soft top, a leather jacket would look awesome with it... oh and your long, sleeveless jacket could look amazing in a long over long and lean silhouette. I think you need to give it a try.

I feel that tucking in is the best for this skirt so not obscure the lovely draped part...but not sure about tucking in with the elastic waist.
I think I need to order it. Most likely it will n ot work with my current wardrobe but at least I can get it out of my system - right?

It's hard to tell how tall you really are in photos alone, but you look very tall and also as though you've lost a significant amount of weight. Your total appearance overall is very striking and naturally dramatic.
I like the idea of a very simple black skirt for you and my only reservation about this one is uncertainty about how it looks in motion, does it ride up, constrict, etc., so really there'd be no way to tell but to try it!

Darn it - went to put in the order and the code I already used in the morning for other items does not work the second time!
Oh well, maybe this is the sign that I don't need this skirt...although I am going to stock it and if ever it goes on sale I will be there!

Their will probably be another sale soon. As for the skirt, I think it would look amazing on you. How do you feel about revealing lots of leg? That is where all eyes will go.

Sveta, it's a BR pick, which are usually not included in their constant sales. Occasionally they will include them, but you have to be very patient, and generally don't get much more than 20%.

But I do like the skirt!

Elizabeth, they had "best customer" promotion this morning with no exclusions at all. I have ordered 2 Monogram pieces which are usually excluded also. I did not think about the skirt at the time. When I tried to use the same code for the skirt later it said that it was already used.:-(
Another Wednesday "1 full price item 40% off" which also came this morning did not work on BR Picks...oh well!
Joy, I don't know about the leg exposure. The whole thing is pretty much out of my comfort zone but was intriguing...
