Opinions on these purchases/outfits

I've got space between the hangers in my closet! My side is actually starting to look a little sparse. These are some things that I think are keepers and some are new purchases that I'm unsure about. I'd appreciate your opinions.

1.) boyfriend sweater (Target/Mossimo) with Ride Line boots.

2.) CK Parma sandals. I love them but they don't work with the dress I had purchased them for. Any ideas of what I can wear with them or should I return? Are they too much? Perhaps with skinnies?

3.) Puffy sleeve shirt. After Angie's post on who could wear these, I'm questioning whether I should keep. Tags are still on--it can go back to Kohl's.

4.) Motojacket. I thought it was cute when I saw it and the sleeve length is just right. It was very inexpensive (not leather.) I'm over 40. Should I steer clear?

5.) Trench. I've been searching high and low for a black belted trench. I think this one is a winner but I'm not sure about length.

6.) Do these pointy boots look okay with this length skirt? I'd wear a long sleeve cowl with it but it's still 85 degrees here and I couldn't stand to change tops.

1. love the cardigan! hard to tell with the boots - the photo isn't super clear. they look strangely baggy, but it may just be the styling. like i said, hard to tell but overall, i love the outfit!

2. love these too! they would look great with skirts like this, clamdiggers/walk shorts, possibly skinnies. they definitely have personality, but i think you pull it off.

3. it's hard to tell with this picture. anyway, i still think puff-sleeve tops are cute. you can pull it off. but if you're not comfortable w/ it anymore, no sense in keeping it.

4. i like it. i might not wear it with patent boots. how about skinnies and the ck parma shoes?

5. i like the trench - fit seems just fine.

6. the boots look great with the skirt! wool and opaque tights will work so well with them in winter too!

Hi Kellygirl...First of all I'm so glad you posted one link to the whole album. I think it's so much easier to review. Anywayyyyy.....

1. BF cardigan--I like it, and I really like the outfit as a whole. The boots look great!

2. WOW! Those are sexy shoes, Sistah! They have a kind of Latina/Flaminco dancer vibe to them. I think they look pretty darn good with that particular black and white skirt. I'd have to see them with skinnies, but I think they'd look great with a wide leg dress trouser.

3. I'm sorry, but the photo is so blurry, it's really difficult to judge the fit.

4. (motojacket) OK this I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE!!! If you don't keep this and wear this regularly, I'll come over your house and eat all your pickles! This jacket rocks and you rock wearing it! It would look fab with a feminine dress!

5. I like the trench--nice classic and fits you well.

6. FS boots...very chic. Looks great with that length skirt, IMO. They make your legs look super long.

How do I get to see whole album? I get your user name and password and then delete your password and put 9n yfl2008. Then it says wrong user name or password. I must be doing something wrong. This has happened with others but I just ignored it but I would like to see when others post like that. If anyone knows what I am doing wrong I would appreciate some tips. Thanks!

By the way, I haven't seen it yet but 40 is by no means to old to wear a biker jacket!
I am 50 and have been looking, just have not found the right one.

Boyfriend cardigan w/boots -- good-looking outfit; you could also try belting the cardigan for a different look -- maybe an animal print belt?

Parmas - awesome shoes; I think you could wear them with all kinds of skirts; I'd have to see them with skinny jeans but I think they could work

It's a bit difficult to tell with the puffy sleeve top -- but I think that the pattern keeps it from looking to young for you.

The moto jacket looks funky and fun -- go for it!

The pointy toe boots look great with that outfit -- but they look like they might be too big for your calves and gaping a bit.

The trench looks like it fits very well -- I think that the shorter style doesn't work as well with skirts and dresses but goes great with pants.

The puff sleeve shirt looks fine to me and the pointy boots with that length skirt looks great. I was wondering about that myself. I have boots like that also. Seeing it in a picture shows that indded it does work, thanks for posting!!

Well, I may be odd woman out on the Ride Line boots. There's something about them that I can't place. But everything else is great. (Well, I can't really see the puff sleeve shirt too well, but I think it looks good from what I can tell.) I absolutely love the Parma shoes and the pointy boots. WOW! Did you post the dress you bought them for? Can we see? I'm thinking that you want to go with an A-line type dress with those. Something kind of simple.

I also think the moto jacket is super.

Thanks, everyone for the comments! I think I'm finally getting the hang of this. Even though taking pictures is kind of a pain, it really helps me to see whether or not an outfit works. It has certainly helped me purge my closet of lots of unflattering and ill-fitting clothes (I spared you guys pictures of those:)) I think I've seen the Goodwill guy three times in the last two weeks--which accounts for all of the space between my hangers!

Shell--please keep posting pictures. I'm hoping your color sense will rub off!
Nicole--you crack me up! Pickles! The jacket is from Kohl's--I got it for around $30 on sale. At that price, you can have your own and not eat my pickles!
AJ--I think you are right about the print. It didn't look juvenile to me when I saw it. I think the gathers are soft enough that I'll be able to pull it off. I'll take another look at it in the am. The boots do gape a bit at the top but hopefully won't be so noticeable with tights. I have a heck of a time finding boots that fit my 13.5" calves.

Oh no, Alecia! That was my favorite purchase! I love the style and they are so comfortable. It could be that the size of my calves is making the shaft of the boot look misshapen. I'll take another look tomorrow. I may try to get one of my DD to take a photo for me.

I didn't post the dress but I'll put up a picture if you're curious. The dress is several years old. The saleswoman said it would never go out of style...I have my doubts about that.

Kellygirl -- I think the pointy toe boots will probably be just fine with tights -- that will give them a snugger fit -- and the boots make your legs look really long, which is always a good thing!

I think the dress is lovely! I agree that it doesn't go with the shoes. But it would be great with some strappy sandals. Maybe in a metallic? Regardless, I still love the Parma shoes.

I wouldn't put too much stock in my concern about the boots. I'm still learning, too. I'm the odd one out so far.

Thanks, Alecia. I liked the dress when I got it five(?) or so years ago. I think it looked better when I was less bulky--I felt like the Hulk in it last night (but I'm not going to buy anything new.)

ETA: I took another picture of the boots and you're right, I think they may be too small in the calf area. I looked at Angie's boots in her post about cropped pants and the shaft of her boots don't look misshapen.

I am late to chime in here, and everything has already been said, but I just wanted to add that you have a great figure and you have made some fab purchases. That dress is gorgeous on you!
