Opinions of glasses frames

I need the opinions of all you very stylish women on a bunch of glasses frames on me. (If you see any weird things on the sides of the glasses, they're the tags.) I wear glasses everyday, all day, so I need a good pair!

My boyfriend loves the Alain Mikli pair and I think I like the Marc Jacobs the best. Looking at it now, I see that the Alexander McQueens are just a joke on me, but I'll keep them up for fun.

I have to give it to the boyfriend. I really like the AM's on you. The Marc Jacobs ones are nice but not special. I'm inclined to veto the Ray Bans (too droopy) and Alexander McQueens (which you seem to already know).

Without looking at any of the responses or the thread, I say hands down Alan Milkili. Kenneth Cole are next. Which do you like best?

My boyfriend is loving the fact that you all agree with him so far. He keeps telling me they're great, but I'm just not seeing it.

I guess I'm a bit concerned that they're: 1) too wide for my face, 2) too heavy in the bridge and 3) too straight across the top (they don't mirror the shape of my eyebrows). Are they too masculine?

I'm not really sold on any of them, but I feel most comfortable in the Marc Jacobs (and I like the shape and the fact that my eyes are centered). I don't like the silver bows though; I'd prefer them to be the same dark color.

Another option is to keep looking... I'm open to suggestions on other frames/shapes that would look good on me.

Portrgirl, if you don't love them then it doesn't really matter what your bf or any of us think. Glasses are a relatively long term investment and you shouldn't compromise. Remember, you have too see these on your face EVERY DAY. If there is something that bothers you now, be it the silver bits or a heavy bridge, that problem is just going to nag you every time you put your specs on.

Keep looking and don't settle until you find exactly what you want.

Without reading any posts I picked the Kenneth Cole as my favorite on you. I'm not feeling the AM's at all. Maybe it's because I just don't care for the look of part frameless glasses.

I brought the Alain Mikli's in to work to show my coworkers and they nailed what was bothering me about them. I hadn't noticed (and it's impossible to see in the photos) that the frames are beveled giving it a very angular look. They said that it'd be a decent pair for me but that they're not absolute winners.

Looks like I know how I'm spending my Saturday now! Any advice on what I should look for would be appreciated. I'll likely post photos of my finds this weekend.

Why not look for something similar to the AM's with a slightly different shape? It sounds like they were close to being winners.

I took Maya's advice (thank you!) and went with what my gut told me was right. I ended up finding what I think is the most perfect pair for me! They feel like a part of me just like my hair, they're so right for me. Thank you all who weighed in and gave your opinions and advice.

Here are THE glasses.

And for fun, this is the other pair I found shopping the same day. My friend really loved these, but I decided they were too funky for me. I'm not a very funky person.

Glad you were able to find THE glasses (and I was able to help!). I have to admit I love the funky ones (purely subjective--I am a funky person :)), but it sounds like you were after a more classic look and the others look fantastic too. The shape is really nice. What color are they? They seem to have a lot of tone and highlights.

It’s great that you found a pair of specs you love! I too prefer the first funky pair because of the way the shape of the frames contrast with the exaggerated arch of your eyebrows. It’s so devastatingly delicious I can’t stand it. It sends me into orbit! But if they don’t feel like you, then that’s no good either. Enjoy your new specs :0)

I hope not to rain on your parade but I LOVE those funky glasses on you, and I do not really think they are funky at all. To me they are perfectly classy on your perfectly classy face. You look stunning!
