Unfortunately my uncle died last weekend - he'd been ill but no one expected him to go so quickly. So I had to make last minute arrangements to travel across the country for the funeral and associated family events. I actually had out-of-town house guests when I learned the news so I had even less time to think about what I packed. I actually was able to pull together very quickly a three day 'capsule wardrobe' that fit in an under-the-plane-seat bag that worked well for travel, family stuff, visitation, funeral, graveside service, and all that jazz.

I just wanted to say thank you to Angie and everyone here at YLF for their part in helping me get to a point where I'm happy with my clothes (at least most of the time!). It's a great comfort in times of stress, whether happy or sad, that you can grab something out of your wardrobe and know you're put-together, appropriate, and not worrying about what you're wearing.

Unfortunately, I think the BCBG black flats I wore for three days straight during the trip, with no blisters or aches and pains besides the expected, are last year's model and no longer sold, or I'd link to them as a find. It'd be hard to get a better recommendation on comfort for the situation.
