So I finished Austerity August without a single clothing, shoe or accessory purchase.
So now I'm looking at things online and debating. But mostly it's thinking, do I really want to spend that kind of money on that? Nothing is really causing me to reach for my debit card.
Maybe some dark culottes. I still pine over the Band of Outsiders blazer. I really just don't know.

What Ingunn said. AA kind of cooled my jets a little bit too, which is good. I got a serious case of the wantsies around the time of NAS, and I scratched that itch, so it's nice to ride out the last few weeks of summer weather knowing that I have fun new things in my closet to play with when the temps cool. I say relax and enjoy. I'm sure soon enough there will be something to tempt that debit card back out again.

I third Ingunn. You have a fab closet and are at a point where you can choose to only add new pieces as fab as the old.

And, it might be a good way to save up for the YLF meet-up in September.

The tides ebb and flow. When something turns up, you'll likely know. Im finally learning i won't run out of fab items to wish for; if less now, there'll be more later for sure.

I think it's too early. Maybe in a couple of weeks, end of August, things will really have come in.

There will always be something eventually; no sense to worry. Plus, money not spent is money available for your big trip!

I think that's great! Maybe the break of Austerity August helped you figure out what kind of items you are really pining for? I sometimes feel like I get into a buying frenzy (like the shark I am) where I'm wanting the fun and excitement of something new and I'm not really taking the time to enjoy what I already have. When I'm not buying, I remember that sometimes the challenge of working with what you have is good for flexing my fashion muscles. And of course there is always the fact that it helps me realize what I have that I really no longer love. I cull more easily when I'm not buying. So I think it makes perfect sense that you are in a bit of a lull right now! Search for those culottes and your blazer and just enjoy otherwise!

And I would just wait for something to really tickle your fancy before plunking down any money. There's no need to buy just for the sake of buying, you know?

Are you uninspired to shop, or feeling uninspired by style in general? I think a shopping pause can refresh how we look at what we own and get us out of old habits of browsing and shopping mindlessly. But changes in habits can also feel strange and reveal a transitioning identity, a new self who wants to focus on other things. If its just an inspiring time to shop, new items will appear and you will feel the call. If it's an identity shift, maybe you are looking to grow in some other way, since you are, at least in my eyes, clearly a style ninja. I'm excited to see your answer to now what?

I have found that after Austerity August, I'm not so much "shopping around" for fun things in general as I am looking for distinct items that I want. For instance, I really want a cozy v-neck navy sweater—a very simple one and with a tailored fit. I also want a midi fit-and-flare-type skirt made out of a wool blend. So I'm content just looking for those items, because I know that they will do what I want them to do in my closet. If I buy extraneous stuff, that's just going to add chaos when I'm trying to make things more cohesive.

Anna you have such a fab wardrobe, I agree you should co it cue browsing but only buy if it's worthy of you.
