Story of my life. They didn't have much in the way of any pants that appealed to me, and the ones I tried on didn't quite work, but I got a couple of tops on good sale that I admired back when they were full price.

The Vince mixed shirting shirt is crisp and a little preppy, but the loose fit eases things up a bit. Hubs has mentioned how much he likes how I look in white shirts, so I thought I'd give this a whirl. The fit is excellent, and I love the mix of stripes and solid white. Simple but a little interesting, and can be worn untucked or tucked, with skinnies or flares. For some reason, it is not on sale on Nordstrom's web site, but it was marked down by half in the store.

I was surprised to see the Burberry shirt on the sale rack (not available as a Find, but I found a photo). I loved this shirt when I first saw it in the store, but I couldn't justify the price. Well, at less than half the original price, I finally thought it was reasonable. The plaid is so perfectly matched, and I love the colors!

The Hinge patterned shirt is, I hope, JFE. Not part of the sale, but it grabbed me. I love the print. Blue and white! Birds! I actually think the stock photo doesn't really do it much justice. I tried it on with navy cullottes (!) and it was a lot of volume, but I think it will look cute with denim jeans or cutoffs. Click through to Nordstrom's site to see the back of the shirt, the back is really cute. The cullottes were not bad on me, but I wasn't convinced I'd actually wear them in my real life, so I left them behind.

Stocked up on a bit of underwear too -- I realized it has been two years since I refreshed the underwear drawer!

I did a little summer closet review yesterday morning, and I am well set for shorts for summer. I have a good selection of mid-length and longer (bermuda to clamdigger length) shorts. I am, however, lacking in something a little longer (capris or joggers maybe) for days when I want to cover up a little more but still stay cool and casual. The Athleta capris are going to be worn out! I have some silky track pants (navy Vince ones and patterned ones from Sundance), but they are both silk and a bit dressier. I tried on a pair of casual joggers at Anthro last week and kinda liked them, but they were a little big on me and the next size down was not available. I looked for something similar yesterday but to no avail. I might try another Anthro.
