Nordstrom - May catalog observations

I get these slick, very well produced "look books" from Nordstrom every few months. May arrived (cover is a model in sun hat) and I couldn't help looking through it with a YouLookFab perspective.

Nordstrom Trends Angie would approve of:
White Denim
Soft Dress (their's is $68, bright pink and very versatile)
Print Skirt (they show a blue and white cotton done three ways)
Gladiators and ballet flats
White Watch
Tunic
White Bag
Embellished silk scarf (very updated scarf shown for $39)
Gear meant to be gear for working out
Good bra
Bright, polished accessories: sophisticated wallet, hoop earrings, long strand necklaces, statement and boho necklaces, cool sunglasses

Nordstrom Trends Angie would NOT approve of:
Capris....throughout catalog. There is a nice page showing various bottom lengths and 3 out of 6 styles are a bad capri length. 2 are knee length and very cute.
Flip Flops
Maxi Dress

So Angie - do you get this catalog? Did I get it close to how you look at it?
Does anyone else see catalogs and magazines and think this way?

Chris,

Funny you mention this. I did get that Nordi catalog. Not only do I look through mags and catalogs with Angie in mind . I am seeing pant length in a whole new way. I often think..."If only those pants came all the way down to the bottom of her heel"

The discerning eye..both a blessing and a curse...I had to toss some of my own things...:)

No kidding -- a blessing and a curse is right. I had no idea, for example, that boots came in different calf circumferences and that if they didn't fit well at the calf, they really didn't fit correctly. I just thought boots were boots and you got what you got. Now I notice ill-fitting boots *everywhere*, including in my own closet.

That and PPL -- boy, I never noticed how rare it is to see PPL, even on sites selling clothing. The pants are nearly always too short, and once again, this includes my own closet. I generally need a petite size in the hip area, but petite sizes tend to be too short in the leg -- and I do NOT have long legs. So now I am stuck buying regular sizes for the length and altering the hip and waist.

Things were much simpler when I was clueless! :)
