No Fear Challenge: Patience

I'm late to the party with this challenge, but I figure there's really no time limit on YLF challenges. So my challenge included two fears:

Strapless - Living in a warm climate, strapless is a rather popular option that I see all the time. While I think the right strapless formal dress can look stunning on the right body type, casual strapless styles mostly strike me as ironically uber casual, not to mention impractical. Plus, I've got bathing suit tan lines on my shoulders. All of this together creates fear #1.

Red - Normally, I like red, but since showing pregnant, I've realized that I am shying away from wearing red over my bump. I don't know why and I do have a bright pink top I wear all the time. So this is a fear that just doesn't make sense, but all the same I've recognized this going on in my brain. (That's what this challenge is all about, isn't it?) In meeting this challenge, I realize that I'm not wearing the most flaming red, but it's a start.

I never thought I'd got for this style but after trying it on, I had to have the dress. Plus it's not actually maternity so I should be able to wear it next summer too.

And, yes, my bump is at its maximally cute stage-- clearly pregnant but very manageable-- so this was a lot of fun. Thanks, Hanna. ;)

Patience: you look beautiful and you are too cute, so is your bump. I love the red dress on you and your body is made for strapless. Killer in my book.

Patience, that second picture is so wonderful. You look happy, confident, stylish, and comfortable.

A smile and a bump, you are definately glowing in that photo.

Don't bank on being able to wear the dress next year, I made this mistake and the clothes were streched beyond belief.

I adore the red and the sandals are fab.

Amazing. You are the perfectly built pregnant woman. You look so good in strapless and in red.
You crack me up saying that your bump is at it's maximally cute stage, being still managable! That is so true and just such a funny thought. You are definately at the stage where you look just so beautiful and radiant, and comfortable. I always feel so bad when women get to the last stage when they are so sick of being pregnant and they do not look happy anymore.
These pictures are just great!

Beautiful! Great job on the challenge.

Thank you, thank you for all of the wonderful compliments. I'll be smiling all day.

RoseandJoan, you're right-- "should" is the key word in that sentence about wearing the dress next summer. I have my doubts, but the knit is very high quality so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

San, you're right about the stages. I've found that I start out in a denial stage, still tempted by regular clothes. Then one day-- boom, I look down and see how beautiful my belly/baby is and no longer have a temptation with regular sized clothes. (I did buy the dress at a maternity store.) By the end, I'm just sick of being big and want to get back into regular clothes and besides I'm tired.
I am definitely trying to really enjoy this next month or so because I also feel my best right now too.

Gorgeous! I like Brulees with it, too. I hope you'll be able to wear it next summer, maybe with a couple of tweaks. Enjoy the cute bump stage :)

Patience, SO gorgeous!! You look so happy and radiant, and to use an over-used cliche - "positively glowing". :-D So glad you decided to take this challenge up. It would have been a shame to hide that lovely dress in the closet.

Patience, you are GORGEOUS!!! And you look amazing in this dress, I can't believe you were shy to wear red! And with such beautiful shoulders and neck, you have to wear strapless!

What a beautiful color and style for you! Your adorable bump is just the right accessory. I agree, the color of the Brulees is just right with the red.
