Newbie - Need Your Expert Advice

I've been a lurker for about a year and have gleaned all sorts of wonderful tips from this site. I used to wear the standard jeans/tshirt uniform almost every day (I work at home); because of this site, I've now branched out into other trousers, skirts, and patterns! I actually have blouses with ruffles now!

I've made some purchases for fall and need advice on how to wear them/ dress them up. Note: I'm 50, shaped like a thin stick: 5'5", 115 lbs., small chested; I like pencil skirts, slim or skinny jeans/pants. I definitely bat for Team Flats (although two of my purchases are heels). I buy 90% of my clothes at thrift/consignment stores or eBay - it pains me to pay retail! 4 out of the 5 items below were purchased on eBay - the Born booties are from 6pm.com. Please give me some advice on how to wear my new purchases.

Hi KC! I like all of your finds. I'd try the heeled booties with dark tights and pencil skirts. For the oxfords and low boots, maybe with dark bootcut jeans? You could wear them with skinnies too, but my eye likes the balance of bootcut. I'm uncreative but for the skirt I picture it with a black turtleneck, tights and ballet flats.

Nice finds! I think the oxfords might also work with skirts (maybe longer skirts, like midis?).

Hi KC and welcome. Good for you to come out of lurking - it is more fun this way!
I LOVE the oxfords you bought! You can wear them with skinnies and slim pants / jeans - this is how I wear mine. They may also work with some dresses above the knee and tights or textured hose.
Heeled booties should work with all types of jeans / pants (just mind PPL :-)) I would also wear them with dresses and skirts - again I would keep the hem above the knee for #1 but #3 can also work with longer hems with dark tights or hose for low contrast.
Desert boots should work with jeans.

No advice but I really like what you found. I'm crazy about that skirt.
I had once saved some zip up the sides overpants just like that and started to make a skirt out of it but came to my senses when I realized I don't
have a figure like yours! I'd love to see a pic of you wearing yours.
I'll be green with envy.

Excellent shopping! It's hard to advise without knowing what else is in your closet, but these are good not-so-basics that can either be the spotlight or the sidekick to any outfit.

I'm of the opinion that great shoes and a great jacket can really make an outfit, so you've got great options to work with, here. Post some outfits and I'm sure you will get a lot of feedback!
