Kristen, the shoes are fab (deeply impressed that you -- that anyone -- can function at that heel level!) but what occurred to me most when I looked at your pictures is that you have TOTALLY TRANSFORMED YOURSELF since you started posting here. It's incredible.

Kristen, the shoes are amazing! If you have a second, could you do me a favor? Could you look at the shoe--usually on the sole or the inside of the vamp--and tell me if they are all synthetic/man-made, or if there is genuine leather in them? I don't purchase leather, and I really like these shoes and I know DSW often carries shoes that aren't leather. I noticed Nordstrom says they have a leather upper, but I find that websites describing shoes are often wrong. I would really appreciate it--thanks!

The verdict is in: the shoes are KEEPERS!

My feet felt great all day, and continue to feel great after I got home and took them off. The only time they weren't comfortable was when I was driving, and that was only because it was hard to find a place to put my leg that fit -- my foot was so much higher and longer than normal, LOL. I will say they gave my legs quite a workout, but in a good way; my dupa is going to be so firm after walking around in these for a couple of weeks!

I am going to go back to DSW tomorrow and pick them up in black. Shiny, I am glad/sad I didn't go to Nordie's first and buy them there; now I can justify getting two pairs at DSW for the price of the one at Nordies. Hee!

This was my first time with platform heels; wow, those suckers are high! :)

I'll put together another post with some earlier shots and some now; I do browse through them on Flickr occasionally, mostly to motivate myself when my willpower flags. :) It's funny, I don't know how much my style has changed, but I do think I do better with fit than I did before.

Steph, I just checked and I am sorry to say they are leather uppers.

They are also called Fates, not whatever I thought they were, which seems appropriate. It is FATE that they are mine. Bwahahaha. :)

I checked at the nearest DSW and they don't have this model yet. I make frequent visits to DSW during my lunch break so I have my fingers crossed :-)

Keep looking, Niva. They only had them at one of my DSWs, not the other. I did pick up the black pair too. Can't wait to wear them!
