New sandals arrived!!!!

My new sandals arrived today and I decided to pair them with the Summer dress my sister gifted me last weekend. The sandals are supremely comfortable. I like them.

I'm not sure I am loving this dress with flat sandals. It does have a lot more flare than I'm used to wearing, and I think it will look better with heels. However, the new sandals might be easy to wear for more casual outings when I need to be able to walk more.

What do you think? Do the sandals look good with the dress?

Oh, I think it works. Yes You need the option of flatter shoes sometimes too.. They're great sandals. A cuff and a great bag and you're set. I could see them work with white shorts and jeans too

I'm afraid these sandals are a little too bleh for this look in general. But they are comfortable, so I'm going to keep them. They'll work on shorter dresses, shorts and pants.

I think it works very well. There is some heel to the sandal and the fact that it is very open and exposes a lot of skin helps too.
This dress is lovely on you!

They look great! They look just like the Sam Edelman trinas that many of us have here on YLF. I wear that sandal height a TON. I find them very versatile, I think you will, too :).

Thanks Suz. They are super comfortable. My sister told me 'they aren't too great' when I showed her these pictures, but I kind of love them bcoz they're so comfortable and versatile.

Ignore your sister. They look fine, and the fact that they're comfortable is important. Take it from me and my fussy feet: comfort comes first.

I agree 100% bettycrocker. I'm done with shoes that are so pretty they make me swoon, but kill my feet. I all for shoes that do their job!

Now - I love the shoes alone, and I love the dress alone, and I also love the two together. However - this is just a suggestion - for some reason I wanna see a belt on that dress. Maybe a skinny white one to tie in the white on the sandal. Just an idea...

That's a great idea! I almost always wear belts on dress. However, the yoke on this one is too high. Like under my bust literally. Belting there means drawing attention to my huge boobs....not something I aspire for. They get *enough* attention without that

Is there a way around that? Can you belt under that definitely yolk where the bodice ends and flare starts? I've never found a way, so I'm welcome to suggestions. I'm someone who wants to add a belt to EVERYTHING. Hehehe

Hmm, what about a wider one like an obi belt? That would take up the space between the yoke and where your natural waist falls a bit lower? Just to see how it would look (if you don't already have a white obi) you could take any long white fabric and wrap it around to see.

It's worth a try ABC. Though I think that'll interfere with the 'fall' of this dress. But I like the idea of adding more white to the look. I'll try the belt, or else I'll try and achieve it with necklace, earrings and a bag.

I have to confess I almost always match my bag to my shoes. I know it's kinda old school and I saw that Bridgette Raes advices against it. But I find this habit hard to break, especially when I wear patterns. It's better when I combine two solid colors coz then I color block....shoes one color and bag the other. Is that so bad?

I like Bridgette Raes, but I don't have a problem matching my bag with my shoes. I hardly ever do it, but don't think it's bad.

Well I think those sandals are perfect for this dress. IMHO, because this dress is fairly short, I think you need to go with a lower heel (like this one) rather than a higher heel.

I just boaught a pair of comfortable nube and white sandals...and though they aren't my favourites for style (on the boring side too), their comfort and walkability is so huge that I've decided to keep them. I actaully think these shoes are charming, and you'll get a lot of wear out them!

The sandals are pretty fabulous, and look really good with this dress. I fully agree with Marley about how well these work with this dress versus a higher heel. They are also a less conventionally expected option than a pump. And of course you can also go further down the unconventional line with these: oxfords, loafers, booties, etc. It's all about creating a little juxtaposition. Of course a pretty little sandal like this works just as well, too. I vote try not matching the bag, just to push yourself

I think I'll do just that Aida. I like this outfit for a casual day and I find white bags too high maintenance. I think I'm gonna go with a blue soft clutch with a wristlet this time.

Thanks Roxanne and Marley. I was looking for comfortable white sandals with interesting details and these are just that with their nude front strap and silver heel. It's actually a rather interesting looking sandal!
