Q&A about individual items, ensembles, and wardrobe

New loot - part II

These are the cardigans I asked Angie about last week. They have a curved hem in the back and they just don't seem to work over dresses/skirts (maybe it's only this particular one, I have a hunch it might be a bit too long for this?)

1. Lavender lightweight cascading cardigan WE.

(ignore the pulling at the bust, just noticed that myself, I'll fix it;-)
Side:

Back:

2. Same cardigan, but in a dark grey. Side and back view look sloppy to me.
The fuchsia cowl neck top (has very short puff sleeves) is also from H&M. It's incredibly soft, great for layering. They had it in a bright blue, black and grey as well.

Inge, I really love the curved hem and the way it scrunches at the back. Somehow, the grey cardi seems huge, especially from the back, even though it's the same as the lavender one. So I think the lavender one looks great and maybe the grey one just needs to be adjusted?

Inge, I love the lavender cardi on you! I prefer it to the grey one, but I think it's just the photograph. Often lighter things will photograph better because you can see the folds and shape more clearly, but I bet the grey one is just as nice in person!

I really like both :) I am no expert, but I am not sure the skirt outfit works from the back. It looks great from the front, but it seems like it needs a belt, maybe?
(Love the colors in both outfits, esp. that cowl neck against the grey)

Yes these are beautiful cardigans. They are opposite of my cascading cardigans which are longer in the front.
The lavender looks stunning. I LOVE this outfit.
I feel that possibly with the grey one there is too much bulk under it causing it to look too big for you. Can you try it with the white shirt so we can see if it fits as well as the lavender one?
I love these and I think you look lovely in them.

San: I actually think the white button-down has more bulk to it than the fuchsia top (very lightweight).
But this goes to show that something is off with the cardigan + skirt look.

Maybe I should only wear these two cardis with pants?

(fyi: they are the same size Patience, you may have a point with your 'adjusting' remark. And Ele: thank you, the grey one is nice too, absolutely, I think it's the shape/length that is not working with skirts/dresses)

I second Marianne, have you tried the belting the second look. I love your colour combinations in both photos.

You look INCREDIBLE in lavender, Inge! My goodness. A lovely curved hem cardi, but the colour is what sold it to me. One of your best colours to date. Fantastic outfit!

Is the fuchsia cowl neck pullover also new? It’s so pretty. You look amazing in fuchsia! You also look fabulous in a pencil skirt.

May I see the grey curved bottom cardi with pants? I’ve tried belting this style and it drives me up the wall. The cardi keeps on moving around. Perhaps yours will stay put, Inge?

Wow Inge - I love the curve of that hem. Very nice!!! I actually like it paired with the skirt better than the pants, so please do keep wearing it both ways!!!

Thanks again for all your comments and suggestions. I really appreciate it!

Angie: I'm chuffed about the lavender too;-) Need more items in this colour!
Funny you should say this about the fuchsia. I had my "colours done" a few years ago, and they tried to convince me to wear fuchsia. At the time I thought "No way, that colour is much too strong for me!". But of course I couldn't resist trying it anyway, and to my surprise it does work.

And yes, the fuschia top (it has small cap sleeves, not puff sleeves, my mistake) is new as well. On sale at H&M. I also bought it in a very bright (for me) blue. Curious to hear what you'll have to say about that colour on me.

I'll try belting the cardi and wear a skirt again (I'm afraid Angie might be right and that it won't stay put). And I'll post pictures of the grey cardi + pants too.

Note to self: must get more pencil skirts too!-)

Not much new to add, I am late in responding. I love the lavender, think the cardigan works well with the skirt and the cowl. I think a button down is harder to pull off with the cardigan but it could be the picture.
You look so beautiful, what a great figure you have!!!

I love the lavender one with the white button down shirt - where is the shirt from? So pretty!

More wows Inge! You were born for cascading cardis! I think I might have seen those tonight at H&M, but I did not have a lot of time to look in detail. I will go back and might end u copying you if you don't mind.

The fuchsia color is killer! If I find that top here, I will be copying that as well, hope you don't mind :)

Thank you Jean, Fathenry and Tanya!! Blushing here (again;-)

Fathenry: the shirt is Victoria's Secret actually, but I don't see it on their website anymore-(
Tanya: Copy away!! I didn't see it in your threads, so I'm guessing you didn't find it at H&M? Perhaps you should check again in a week or so, inventory changes quickly there. And I know that colour would be stunning on you too!
