Her first collection won't debut will not debut until the summer of 2015.

I do hope she can fix the uneven quality lately as well as the fashion. I was in the new Valley Fair store today, tried on some things, but found nothing I wanted to buy. Of course, I didn't find anything in the Loft or Nordstrom either, except for a Joie jacket that they didn't have in anything near my size.

I think Banana Republic is in need of making some changes. I've been less and less impressed with their selections lately, with a few exceptions.
I'll be interested to see how the new director shakes things up.

I hope this will be a nice change. I haven't been buying much there either, but that is the store where I can buy the best-fitting clothes. Everything has been so blah and cookie-cutter recently.

The in-store experience hasn't been very exciting for me for a very long time. It would be great if Marissa can breathe some life into the stores.

Hopefully BR will be better, I always go and look there but never buy,
1. sort of boring
2. anything I like I can buy at GAP for less

Store needs an injection of something new, stop with the Movie/TV tie-ins

I hope this is good news for BR. I used to buy from them frequently but have passed it over for the last couple of years because the quality has been so up and down. It's also gotten a bit stale and boring -- and that's saying something, coming from a woman who looooves her basics!

I only go to BR for essentials that I know will be there - Martin fit pants and wrap dresses! In past years though, the cut on the pants has been doing funny things...they aren't keeping up on quality control, and some of their pricing has started to rival shops with much better quality and materials. Cotton sateen dress pants shouldn't be nearly $100.

Oh! I'm excited about this. I've been in love with her tie blouse for a while. I too hope she'll do something about the quality. I just returned two blouses to BR that were nearly $80 each (but of course 40% off discounted). They were such low quality that the fabric on them felt crispy. ((shudder)) Awful. I made a point of telling the SA who helped me all about how disappointed I felt in BR's quality slip.

I hope she will deal with quality as well as design. Spotty quality makes it difficult to want to shop at a store to begin with. I also hoep they will embrace the natural fabrics more. I really liked them with they mixed silk and cotton, silk and linen etc. Seems like a lot more poly these days.

Still, I would be glad to give them a second chance

it always makes me think when these big chains hire a designer who is going to keep their side project. makes me think they are not going to give it their "A" designs. only time will tell.

BR is where I get most of my staples. I need classics for work. I hope the store doesn't get too trendy or change the sizing much. I'd cry if the messed with the Martin fit!
