I was so disappointed last year when I did not order the Barney's red Birkenstocks while they were in stock. They sold out, of course, and never came back in in my size. But I never stopped looking for them.

Very early this spring I was searching Amazon and found almost the exact same sandal. The major differences are that the sandal I ordered does not have the lighter coloured footbed (it is the natural suede colour instead), and that the sandal I ordered was only available in "normal" width, which is a wide for most people. However, since I've been wearing Birks since my University days in normal width, I knew I could wear either the normal or the narrow, so I ordered them.

They did take about a month and a half to arrive, as they came directly from Germany. However, they arrived in great condition within their estimated shipping time, and they are perfect. They are a bit stiff, given they are made of the oiled leather instead of suede, but so were the sandals at Barney's. And the best part? Mine were $120+ less expensive than the ones I thought would only be available at Barneys.

Pictured first in the Finds section are the Barney's sandals; then the ones I ordered from Amazon. In the added photos section, the actual sandals on top of my washing machine.
