Need some good vibes for our sweet little pug

Something happened to our dear little Sophie tonight while I was out with friends, and my husband ended up taking her to the vet ER. One of her legs is clearly hurting and she's in a lot of pain. They gave her a shot and we have some pain pills for her, so we're letting her rest to see if it's something that eases or she might need to get an X-Ray on Monday. She has a mast cell tumor on her back leg, so she's already a little shaky, and she's 13 so not a young dog. I'm afraid for her. She did eagerly eat the food that my husband gave her when he got her back home, so that's good at least.

We're keeping her quiet and away from the other dogs until we can get a better sense of what's going on. If you have any spare good vibes or prayers for this sweet little girl, we could use them. Thank you!

I'm so sorry to hear about your puggy dear. We have two puggy darlings. Our late pug, Bing Bing, suffered with the mast cells and crossed the bridge in 2014. Our sweetie Helio has seizures. Pugs are so funny and so lovable. I hope things go well for Sophie.

Well, this morning she's barking for her breakfast like normal, although a little more subdued. She ate like a champ (pugs do that), and has been putting weight on the leg, although she is wobblier than usual and moving very slowly. The leg does look swollen. But very doubtful that it's broken. I remembered late last night that she had this happen once before, but not quite to this extent -- maybe a pulled muscle or something?

At any rate, thank you for the good thoughts. We are keeping her quiet and seeing what happens. Crossing fingers it resolves itself and she doesn't need an X-ray.

Thank you, Angie and everyone! I just had her outside for a while and she is walking around pretty well, albeit wobbly. I think she'll be ok. We think she might have pulled or twisted something.

Jamie was so worried about her last night when it became apparent she was hurting -- she was panting and holding her leg up, she seemed to be in so much stress and pain. He didn't want to worry me, so he didn't tell me until I got home, which is good because I would have been thinking about it the whole time and would not have enjoyed the baseball game nearly as much. I'm so thankful for him.

I wonder if poor Sophie got a charley horse? Do dogs get those? Poor baby, she's so adorable, I can't bear to think of her in pain. I'm glad she seems to be on the mend.

How's Sophie now, Janet? She's so adorable, and I wish her a speedy recovery. It's good that she has her appetite. And that your husband was really proactive abt taking her to the vet ASAP.

She's acting pretty normal tonight, but the leg still looks a little swollen. We're carrying her up or down any stairs just to be safe. Thanks for asking! I'm feeling relieved but staying vigilant.
