Q&A about individual items, ensembles, and wardrobe

Need help with jeans please

I have to apologize up front since I have 9 pairs of jeans that I'd very much appreciate your feedback on. After a couple of years of dry spells of higher rise flattering jeans, I seem to have hit the mother lode. Now I can't tell which ones are keepers and which are not. None of these are premium denim. I'd love some variety of wider boot to skinny. I tend to prefer dark washes.

Any and all feedback much, much appreciated.

If you click on this link and then scroll to the Right and select each picture, you'll see all the jeans. On the top of the picture, you will see the name of the Jeans.

Hey Sihaya!

Man when I'm on the internet I've got nothing but time. :) I'm 100% for you posting 9 pairs of jeans. I hope I have comments that are helpful to you!

1. The Express jeans are not quite doing it for me. Maybe the rise is a bit too high? I'm unsure what it is. :/ Angie will be able to provide you with more informative comments!

2. I quite like these on you! The fit in the rear looks good to me. :)

3. I love this wash, and again they look nice to me.

4. Something about these...agh, I wish I knew what it was. I'm not a fan. The fit looks a bit tight or something?

5. <3 these! Way cute, in my opinion.

6. The Levis look fab to me.

7. I love the wash of these. Again, they look pretty good in my eyes!

8. I'm meh on these ones, but it may just be the wash.

9. I'm not used to such a high rise, but they seem to fit you well! I'd say keep.

I'm dying to hear what Angie has to say on this. I love jeans but know so little in regards to their fitting. Best of luck and I hope some of it helps! ^_^

1 - like these, very nice
2 - - like these too, but not the whiskering
3 - like the wash, very nice
4 - for some reason these don't work for me as well, even though it's the same brand?
5 - I am not liking something about the pocket placement
6 - not a big fan but I can quite articulate why
7 - nice
8 - not a big fan of the wash, sorry!
9 - I think pocket placement is off - maybe meant for a taller person?

Whew, that was hard! I hope it helps.

1. The Express jeans seems too tight in the waist!

2. Fine, but not fabulous.

3. Nice wash.

4. Looks tight.

5. don't like much..

6. Love the Levis.

7. You look better in darker washes!

8. Don't like the wash.

9. I love the higher rise on you! It gives you a lovely waist. My favorites! Love also the darker wash!

Concluding: higher rise is better, some pairs gives you a muffin (you don't have but if the waist is tighter...), darker washes are better!

Sihaya, I like the NYDJ, Levis, and M&O jeans best on you, in that order. All the others are either too tight in the waist, have bad pocket placements or more prominent_than_is_nice whiskering in the front. Jean shopping is so exhausting, I applaud you for making such an effort!

Okay! Here’s my 2 cents:

1. Express dark boot cuts seem too tight in the waist. Not so fab.

2. Gap boot cuts – nice!

3. LE dark boot cuts– which brand is that? I can’t really see the fit from the picture. Do you like them?

4. LE fitted – nice!

5. LE lighter wash – not the most flattering wash, but that could be the photo. It’s a good clean fit.

6. Levis – very good!

7. Jeans M&O – these are the ones. Fabulous! KEEP and duplicate.

8. Mia skinnies – too tight in the waist.

9. NYDJ’s fit well in the rise with the best girdling effect, but they don’t get my vote. I know what these jeans do after laundry and they aren’t spiff enough for your style. You will feel dowdy in them after a while because the denim fabrication is not stellar.

That was GREAT effort, Sihaya! Lots of good options. Which are your favourites?

My favorite are the Gap jeans, and my least favorite are the Express jeans (#1 in the set).

Sihaya, I liked the M+O jeans and the Gap jeans. I'm exhausted by your effort just looking through the photos :)

I haven't looked at the other comments Sihaya, but by favourites are hands down the M&O jeans. The Gap ones are great too.

Have you made a decision yet?

Wow - I am once again so blown away by all of your generosity and specificity. These comments are super, super helpful. I love the M&O a LOT and I also like most of the LE, Levi's, Gap. However, the M&O is the brand that they're phasing out. This was the only one left. It's a size or two too big and I'm going to have to take it in for a waist nip. But they look great. Thanks to KristenKP for the pointer on their sale.

Angie, I hear you on NYDJ - Antje and I both wondered about the dowdiness factor, yet at that time it was the only high rise option. Since I bought it at Nordie's I can still return it.

And yes, it was a monumental effort. But I'm glad I did it. I'm next going to wear and wash all of these. After 3 or 4 wears, I want to then duplicate or triplicate my purchases so I don't have to go through this anytime soon.

Thank you SO SO much again all of you!!!

I will return the Express jeans.

Sihaya, the M&O jeans don't look too big at all. Are we talking about the same style?
