Need hair advice for photo shoot

Nothing too exciting here ... But I am redoing my business website this summer and having new professional head shots taken for the site and LinkedIn. So here is my question. Do I get the photos taken now? I quite like where my hair is, color and cut-wise, but I'm due for a trim and color refresh in two weeks.

There is no rush for the photos except that I am here for a month with no travel planned.

Do I get the photos done now, right after my cut/color in two weeks, or in a month after some grow out?

(if you have short hair then you know: no two haircuts or highlights are ever exactly the same, so I am unsure where I will land with the next outing - although I do love and trust my stylist.)

Would love your advice, ladies.

It looks great but I don't know how much color you are talking about getting done. Are you going to be getting the same basic cut? I could see a little off the side swept bangs to make sure your eyes stand out.

Hi Texstyle, yes same basic cut. And probably will not do side swept bangs (although I hear you, and they are probably the most traditionally attractive cut for me) but I am enjoying having a long bang that hangs down in my face (like Jed on the Night Manager). So I'm not going to really change anything, I don't think - just do a refresh / trim of the same cut. Ps I hate hate selfies. I really don't think I look like this at all.

I say do it right after the cut and color, as long as you like the way it looks that day. My hair guy does photos and event makeup too, though I have not taken him up on it.

Another vote for doing it after the cut and colour just because it will create a crisper look. Good for a professional site.

If you are going for a similar look, I would go with straight after the cut and colour. I am biased here by my own lack of skill with the hairdryer though.

You look beautiful and if you're not making a huge change I vote after the cut/ colour. Your business is thriving! Gosh, I remember a few years ago you were a bit worried about things, but look at how busy you are! And no wonder. You would be a complete joy to work with.

Ah, Suz! Thanks for the kind words. I've had tech issues all day and have been swearing like a sailor (only the dogs can hear me) so I don't feel like such a complete joy!

Business is quite strong but there's always next quarter to worry about, so the site revamp is part of a big marketing push for the second half. Things are evolving, as I suppose they must.

Thanks everyone for the great advice. I have booked my photos for several days after the cut and color. I can't go directly there from the salon, Sally (and others), as I am somewhat obsessive about feeling tiny hairs all over me after the salon, whether or not they are there .... I would be an anxious freak if I went directly to the studio! (I think this may be a short haircut problem?)

But, I do think that having the cut and color fresh makes the most sense since I am investing in the photos. You're right, Angie: a crisper look is smart. Stay tuned for more advice about what to wear.

And BrieN, why shouldn't your vote count? It's at least as important as everyone else's! Thank you for weighing in.

hey Viva --- I think I was alluding to the fact that I've never had short hair so don't know how difficult it is to get the same style consistently, as you mentioned in your post. Added to that I am really low on the learning curve about hair and hair styles in general; I didn't feel quite like my vote should have the same weight as those who have a lot of know-how and experience.
