Navy knit tee/sweater suggestions?

While trying jackets on the other night, I realized I could really use a simple, scoop or gentle V neck navy top for layering. I have a navy turtleneck but sometimes want something a little more versatile. And I have more than enough black tops and sometimes I just want something not quite so stark.

I'm looking for full length sleeves, a not wide scoop neck or gentle V-neck, an easy, drapey, but not oversized fit, and a mid weight -- either a substantial tee or not-heavy sweater.

Everything I'm finding right now is either crew neck, 3/4 sleeves, too heavy, or just plain sold out. I guess it's late in the season for this, huh?

If it's too late, I'll just make a not to look for one next fall, but if you've seen any good contenders, please feel free to share.

Janet -- Sam's Club has really nice Eddie Bauer tee shirts in navy (short and long sleeve) (crew and v-neck). It is not a heavy fabrication. Not oversized.

I was going to suggest the same uniqlo merino sweater that Angie linked. I have it in black. It's TTS for a fitted look, or you can size up for slouchy.

Just FYI, the scoop neck merino from uniqlo is an entirely different cut (much slouchier w/drop shoulders) that was terrible and sloppy looking on me. I figure since we have similar body types it might be helpful to know that.

J. Jill? the full-length sleeves might be harder this time of year, but they've got a lot of basic scoopnecks, etc.

Eddie Bauer has their Presidents' Day sale on right now, so sizes and colors might be limited, but their basic tees have always done well for me.

This one from Club Monaco is a crew neck ......but, I'm wearing it as I type and can tell you it's soft and comfortable light merino wool and I adore it. It washed great on the hand wash cycle, hung to dry then ran the iron over it. (I've started ironing my fine knits. I think Angie irons knits and I don't know why I didn't start this sooner. They come out so nice!). CM runs small so size up. I'm usually a S but got a M.

I've also got the BR Rib-Trim Tee you posted above (in gray). It's also great if you're looking for a tee that's a bit more special than a basic. TTS.

Shoot, rachy, now I can't remember where I saw the 3/4 sleeve. Target? I'll see if I can find them again. 3/4 sleeves drive me nuts in the winter because when I put on coats and jackets over them, the sleeves get smushed up inside the outerwear.

Not quite the neckline you're seeking, but I recommend the Uniqlo Heattech cowlneck T. It's not a big cowl, the fabric is substantial, and it is slightly drapey. The sleeves fit slim at the bottom a few inches below the elbow so they stay up if you want, but stay down if you are adding another layer. The shoulder seam is dropped. The navy is ink, and the black to my eye has a brown cast. This T is not nearly as warm as their heavy turtleneck Heattech, I think because it doesn't fit that closely, but would be quite warm if I layered a long sleeve Heattech layer underneath.

How are the arm lengths on the Uniqlo tees? I have a couple of heat tech tees that I only wear as sort of long underwear -- the sleeves are a little short and that always bothers me on shirts that I want to be able to wear without a topper. They always make me feel like I need to yank my sleeves down.

I find the sleeves on uniqlo short on me and I never have this problem.

Quality tees (in my experience) at a bargain are the Everlane tees. This one is just $28 but I have not tried it. I usually wear a L in their tees (and a size 8-10 in many other brands).
