So right. Mum's kitchen redo is starting soon. I'm trying to move everything around, and am wearing these slip on sneaks. They're just for messing around like this, I shouldn't care, but they are bothering me. They're just so BLACK. Too black to go with anything, even black. I'm thinking iron-on appliqué...
Lol. The weirdest things can irk us.
I had no idea you could iron an appliqué on a shoe. Since they are kick around shoes it wouldnt hurt to experiment. Let your inner bedazzling teen out.
If they are canvas, you can color them with Crayola crayons, then iron over your design (using a press cloth, to protect the iron), to have a permanent design. (The waxy look of the crayon melts into the fabric with the heat, so just the color is left.)
I know what you mean, Rachy-I did have this problem in the past myself, too!:-) Solution is to look up for black shoes with lighter sole-or not so black shoes in general (rather dark grey, navy, burgundy etc).
My husband has some all-black runners. They look, IMHO, really bad! They also make his feet look small. All insinuations aside, they just look unbalanced with the rest of his body. Like he might tip over. I haven't breathed a word of this to him
Omigosh. You guys are geniuses. Now I'm all torn... Deeply pondering, Angie, how/where to get just the right rainbow... I have to go get myself a lotta cheap sneaks to DIY, lol!
Change the shoe laces...rainbow, maybe? Or get some faux fur at the fabric store and glue on chunks of it. Maybe ears and a tale? Stick on googley eyes. A pattern like zebra or dalmation might be fun on the black shoes. Don't forget that you can glitter or Bedazzle them.
