Descriptions of your daily ensembles

my recent outfits (02/16-20)

Here is what I wore this week. I am still continuing the wardrobe challenge with only 1/3 of my wardrobe still waiting to be worn.
If you would like to see all the picture in one page, click this link and start scrolling from the first outfit. the pictures will be in reverse order:

1) Monday:

My hair looked really crazy that day, too much volumizing product!:)

2)Tuesday

I was originally planning to wear this outfit with a brown suede belt. When I tried it on, I realized that the belt is too big to wear around my waist so I had to improvise. As I commented on Violet's thread earlier, usually, the scarf-worn-as-belt look doesn't really work for me, but I think this one does. Wearing the scarf wider, almost like an obi-belt helped, I think.
ETA a note for Shiny: This is the same scarf that you had asked me about previously. It is a really old scarf, I can't remember where I got it from but I love it!

3) Wednesday:
More animal print!

4)Thursday:

This is an experiment in color. Due to flash the colors didn't come out quite right but I really liked this combination. I also removed the turtleneck during the day as I was getting too warm. I think the outfit looked even better without the turtleneck.

5)Friday:

I am afraid this photo doesn't do justice to the outfit at all. I think I looked very polished and yet comfortable on Friday.

As you see, it is still pretty cold around here, I am still wearing thick winter coats over my outfits. It did snow a bit yesterday and more is on the way for later tonight. :(
Let me know what you think. I will keep updating you on my challenge.

Very well done. I can tell you enjoy style and you are a natural at it. Love the jeans in the last picture. I wish I had my trouser jeans hemmed for my event this evening. Love all your outfits and the beautiful colors you can wear.

I'm always taking notes when you post pictures, Bella. San is right, you have a natural flair for style!!

For me the belt really makes the outfit on Tuesday, I love the obi-style AND the stripes.

You always look so amazing in skinnies and boots too, I'm jealous!-)

Thursday: you look great in bold colours and although the picture does seem to be a little overexposed, I think your outfit is cheerful and elegant at the same time.

Friday: very polished indeed! I love the black shirt with the thin stripe, and the combination with the pink sweater.

Another great week Bella. You do indeed have a talent to pull some amazing outfits together. I love them all, but am especially fond of Monday and Wednesday.

Bella I am still swooning over #3. I really also like the skirt and top together in #2. I know it'd be hard (if not impossible) to do by yourself, but could you try the scarf knotted at the back? Perhaps that'd make it look a bit more sleek?

Thank you ladies!

San - I hope you can get your pants hemmed soon. Trouser jeans are a lifesaver, they work well for many different occasions.

Inge - the black striped shirt has actually a lot more interest, it has ruching on the the sleeves and the side seams. I really like that shirt and wear it on its own when the weather is nicer.

Tanya - you and I share a common taste of animal print!:)

yublocka - thanks for the suggestion! I actually very much enjoyed wearing the scarf as an obi-belt so I will probably try to wear some other scarves this way as well. I will definitely try to knot it in the back or even tuck the ends in. It may give me more options with other outfits.

Very nice! My favorites are Monday and Tuesday.

I loved all of the outfits. Especially the idea to wear a scarf as a belt. I'm a big fan of animal print this year as well. Are Koton & Rodi Turkish brands? If so, Merhaba! :)

Yes, they are! A fellow compatriot? Merhaba!

Wow Belle, I'm going to start calling you Bella the Belt Queen! You really rock a belt!

I love the green cardi in the 2-17 photo, with the brown skirt. I love that shade of green!

It's funny because I looked at your photos w/out reading the captions first, and I thought the 2-19 outfit with the bright colors, denim skirt and turtleneck would look better w/out the turtle neck.

The pink sweater in Friday's outfit is also a great color for you.

But I have to say, my favorite outfit is 2-16 (the too much product in hair day). You look so sophisticated, yet approachable at the same time!

I love your crazy hair! Maybe it's because I'm a native of New Jersey, but hair can never be too big to me!

I like all your outfits but the green sweater and brown skirt is my favorite. I also just love how you layer things in general. I am not a very innovative person when it comes to layering so I admire that ability on others.

Yes. A fellow compatriot named Ilkay living in San Diego. My late Mother's name is Inci. So my web nickname is Legacy of Pearl. :) Nice to meet you.

You have wonderful style, Bella. I like your obi-belt-scarf-creation. It looks good. I love Mondays and Thursdays outfit especially. You stylish little lass with the Jackie - O sunglasses :-)

You look terrific every day! I have to join the chorus loving the scarf-as-belt look. I'm glad you didn't go with the brown suede, the softness and folds of the scarf softens the rest of the outfit and brings out the folds of the skirt. The playfulness and polish of Monday is mt favorite, though.

Ooh.... so many ideas to copy here! I love the scarf belt. I love the way you belted the top under the animal print cardi instead of over. Love the way you wrapped the scarf around the cowl neck on 2-18.

And I must've missed last week's photos... I ADORE 2/14 Casual Saturday!!!! And the shift dress on 2/12 is sweet.

I only wish I could wear turtlenecks as well as you do. :-(

Great job!

I'm so excited when you post, Bella! I love your style. Everyday is a great one, but my favorite is Wednesday. I love those sleeves. I keep trying on shirts like that and can't seem to make it work but you look amazing in them! LOVE!

Thank you very much!

Nicole - I love the "Bella the Belt Queen" nickname. I can only hope to live up to it!:)

Maya - I am struggling with this haircut a little bit, so I completely understand you pain with your hair. I really like the cut that I currently have but I always blowdry my hair and sometimes it turns out too puffy, sometimes too flat and sometimes just right. The only problem is I don't know why so I feel like I have no control over my hair!

Legacy of Pearl - It is so nice to meet you! You have a great alias!

Angie - Thanks! The sunglasses has become kind of a signature for me, at least on this forum.:)

Kristen -It took really sometime to come up with the Monday outfit. I conceived the basic elements of the outfit in my head but the belt didn't really work well over the cardi and the outfit didn't really click until I decided to try the belt under the cardi.

Shiny - I really like experimenting with certain elements of the outfit and I am happy to see that you find some of these elements copy-worthy, yay!
I didn't post pictures from last week, I'm happy that you got a chance to look through them. Did you really like 2/14? Did you think that the proportions worked well? I was a bit skeptical! I really like all the elements of that outfit (tunic and jacket in particular), I jut don't know if they worked well together.

Alecia - I think these sleeves work for me because I have very pronounced pear shape. The sleeves help me balance the bottom part of my body. If you have a strong shoulder line, they might not work as well.

Again, thank you all very much!

You look absolutely beautiful!! I love the bold and dramatic looks that you come up with.
I love Tuesday's outfit with the scarf belt!! I am so inspired, you make it look so easy.
It is so much fun to see your posts, I feel like I am viewing a celebrity fashion shoot!

Bella, what a great week! I especially like your improvised obi-belt.

I'm sorry to hear your hair doesn't want to behave. I always admire your hairstyle in your pics, it looks really good. I had a similar cut once, but couldn't get the hang of styling it properly (I'm terrible with a blow dryer). It's so great to see it styled well on somebody else.

GG - thank you very much, I'm blushing!

Lena - Thanks for the nice comments about my hair. It is process, I'm figuring out a bit more everyday. The idea is for my hair to look consistent everyday and I think I'm getting there with experimenting. I just discovered for example that I was using the wrong round brush (too large) and quitting using that brush remedied the volume problem quite a bit. Thanks again!
