My Outfit Today: Waist-Hiding Dress

Today was a gorgeous 75 degree day and I wore one of the ATL dresses I bought back in August.

It’s actually a duplicate of a black & white print dress that I got at the same time.

The colors are a bit more fall-like and I hope that I will be able to wear it with a long-sleeved cardigan or jacket and boots when the weather gets a bit cooler. Although it is somewhat fitted across the bust, it’s not a true empire and it’s pretty voluminous through the waist which is super comfy (especially during that time of the month!). Oh, and this is the SAME short-sleeve teal cardigan that I seem to wear all the time. It’s the only short-sleeve one that I have other than black. I so wish that I had stocked up on more of these last summer because the pickings were slim this year. I have gold hoop earrings on so I skipped wearing a necklace but looking at the pics, I think a necklace would help fill out the neckline better. On my feet, I wore black patent peep toe flats although I changed into my birks when I went out for a walk with the kids.

I also wanted to show off my pedicure – the first one that I have had for a long time! It looks black in the pictures but it’s actually a dark, midnight blue on my toes (and a pale neutral pink of my hands). I usually do it myself but I was visiting family this weekend and my cousin was primping for a wedding that she was attending so I decided to join her for some of the fun. We got eyebrows threaded as well as mani/pedis and I watched as she got her hair done too. Here’s her final result (minus jewelry and scarf):

What a lovely outfit Shana! I think you wear the waist-hiding dress very well. I adore your toe-polish, I have my eye on a very similar color. And your cousin looks amazing.

Also the Lady In Yellow, looks fab! My! A live lesson of perfectly age appropiate dressing.(Would like to look like her, when at her age!!)

Thanks ladies! What is sad is that our weather forecast is calling for highs around 60's for the rest of the week so no chance to show off the pedicure. But of course now I can pull out the boots :)

Teal/dark turquoise has been my favorite color to wear for awhile now. I have several other pieces in the same color - I used the opportunity to stock up last year when it was so popular. Even my favorite sari is this color too:
